Trips, the errant Godfather earned his name well. He can go and piss upwind as far as I care, what a thoughtless arsehole!!!! And IMHO, the girls were letting off steam and having a ball and you were totally right to go with your guts and let them.

I knew clavicle!!! but only because of a film ........remember that? Someone was hugely turned on by someone else's clavicle and touched it when they shouldn't have........was it The Age of Innocence?? What an amazing film. I was/am so in love with Daniel Day Lewis...........

frumpygrumpy · 03/03/2009 23:31

Shabs, what made you put on that glorious song? I sang that in front of our class once................

frumpygrumpy · 03/03/2009 23:32

Sorry , I don't mean why that song, I know why that song, I mean are you ok?

shabster · 04/03/2009 06:22

Morning girls.

Frumpster you make me laugh out loud. My Matt was dyslexic but he was fantastic at art. They studied Vincent Van Gogh and he thought that Van Gogh was amazing he won the school prize for his copy of the Sunflowers. Just love the words - they remind me of Matt.

OMG Lew will be here in a few minutes and I made the mistake of having a few drinks last night - Lew, a late night and a few drinks = very bad combination

frumpygrumpy I think you may be referring to The English patient where Ralph Fiennes gets himself in a dither by touching Kristen Scott Thomas in the hollow of her neck below her throat.

a) How long before I can go back to normal after a ceasarian
b) When do they normally take twins out?

IT SNOWED HERE LAST NIGHT!!!!!!! Its still a little white out front but sunny.

neddie, your feelings are the reason for the thread. We natter on until someone interrupts us and needs help. I can't answer your cs question but someone will, Momma did you have a cs with your twins? I know no driving for 6 weeks (you're not insured after a major op). Neddie, why would you want sleeping tablets after the cs? Are you worrying in advance? If possible, try not to predict how you might feel......its a bit like throwing buttons up in the air......you have no way of knowing what pattern they will make when they land xxxx. Your hospital will have its own 'standard'. I think Momma's hospital 'rule' was a cs automatically at so many weeks (36?), my hospital just monitored me closely and I went over term. Both our sets of twins were good weights (IIRC) and neither had problems. I guess you will need to speak to the hospital you are going to use.

jenny THANK YOU!!! That is the film I meant.....wasn't that an adorable film? so gorgeous and she is gorgeous and elegant and a very underrated actress IMHO.

Shabs, I remembered the sunflower story behind the song but I just worried that you were maudlin. It just popped in and you usually play it at the end of a Radio GaGa session Glad you are ok you lush.

Trips, hope you enjoy lunch x.

Ruby - thank you.

frumpygrumpy · 04/03/2009 14:48

HM, how's things? Talk please and don't dare say you didn't want to bring us down.

tkband3 · 04/03/2009 15:55

Neddie, I had a CS and found it easier to recover from than my previous 'natural' birth, although I still didn't drive for 5 weeks. I didn't have sleeping tablets after my CS, but I was given quite a lot of painkillers which didn't interfere with the breastfeeding. When I was in hospital being induced with DD1 they gave me a temazepam (sp?) the first night, which meant I had the best night's sleep I'd had in months . Mine were 'taken out' at 37+4, which was the date I'd agreed with my consultant - but they'd have been happy for me to go into labour spontaneously and go further on in the pregnancy if they'd been non-id.

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself - I've had a bad sore throat and cough the last couple of days and have woken up this morning with very little voice. The girls are delighted because it means I can't shout at them .

We saw the paediatrician about DT1's positive coeliac blood test last week and the good news is that she doesn't have to have the endoscopy and biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. She is now on a gluten free diet and unfortunately I think it's going to take her a while to get used to it - she'd older than DD1 was when she was diagnosed so has a better memory of what 'proper' food tastes like! Tea time is always a challenge in this house anyway, but now it's even worse and I am not very proud of how I'm dealing with things. DT2 has a blood test on Friday and once that's out of the way, I shall put all 3 girls on a g-f diet which will make like easier in some respects. But I just hate the fact they are all having to go through this .

TeaSleepFood · 04/03/2009 18:24

Oh TKB, at least you know what is wrong and DT1 doesn't have to have any more invasive testing. My friend is coeliac and when we were little we used to sing: Weee Weee Weee! We're eating gluten freeee! (I suppose it would be Wii Wii Wii now though)

Neddie - I had C-section at 38 weeks which again was hospitqal deadline for twins. C-section as DD was breech and T1. Recovery was really not bad at all, actually moved around better as no longer enormous bump. Didn't have sleeping tabs and to be honest as first time mum I was scared of not hearing them if needed - oh the naivity of it
Nice to hear back from you though!

MERLYPUSS · 04/03/2009 19:58

Neddie - My CS was booked for 38 weeks as I have health problems (epilepsy) and they wouldn't let have a natural. I didn't last that long anyway only missed out by 2 days but never the less....
I took paracetamol for pain (was in high dependancy overnight for blood and fluid so don't remember a lot about 1st night). I do remember having awful wind though and having to drink peppermint - yeurk!!
Oh by the way we are the house of snot ATM.
