Just wondering when you started to show with your multiple pregnancy?

About 11 weeks - was my 1st pregnancy & remember saying to my sister "I'm showing already" and her telling me it was wishful thinking or that I had been pigging out too much. Found out it was twins about 3 days later! Incidentally I dreamt I was having twins before I knew. That happen to anyone else?

really early

I had a pot belly from really quite early on (maybe 9 weeks?) Was more noticeable as I was really slim then (sigh). We kept on joking I must be having twins and my mum kept telling me I must have my dates wrong! Didn't have any twin dreams but did have a feeling and so did DH - and my Dad predicted twins even tho no twins in family. First scan was still a real shocker tho!! When I went public with the pregnancy and the twin news I kept getting told my bump was tiny tho which made me really paranoid (until 3rd trimester when I was a giant balloon on two skinny little chicken legs. Suddenly the 'you're so small to be having twins' comments stopped although I did get plenty of gasps of horror!)

I didn't start showing til about 15 weeks, and even at 32 weeks my consultant said he wouldn't believe that I was having twins if he hadn't seen the scans with his own eyes. They were tiny though and had IUGR, though they're now average build and fine.

I remember being totally shocked when we found out it was twins, though also strangely relieved. It was a planned pregnancy but I'd felt so ill and tired for about a month and thought I must've been a complete wimp as morning sickness didn't make anyone else feel this bad! Then when I found out that morning sickness can be twice as bad with twins it all made sense...

I think I started to really show around week 12. I am not too skinny and had plenty of (2 sizes up) large clothes from my prev weight loss attempt. That hid the belly for a while. But At week 16 nothing fit at all despite all the large clothes, pants etc. By week 22 I was in full pregnancy gear. This is my first though so I guess stomach held well for a while.

By about week 12!! Definitely a bump there when I was scanned. I didn't realise that was unusual as my fiorst pregnancy, got a bit of a shock when she said 'do you see what i see? there's 2 in there!'

I was having to wear maternity trousers at 6 weeks. I found out I was having twins at 8 weeks.

kitstwins · 21/11/2008 14:08

I started getting offered seats on the tube at 14 weeks, which may have been due to what I was wearing (tight clothes, rather than a bikini I add...) but I could tell I had rounded stomach from about 12 weeks.

Interestingly, I went to a christening at 10 weeks before we'd announced the pregnancy and two people asked my friend whether I was pregnant as I had a slight tummy (I was very slim and toned). She of course said "No way, she'd have told me!" which was very useful in prolonging our secret.

hattyyellow · 21/11/2008 16:11

Was fairly skinny pre twins and when I got pregnant with them I had a bit of a tummy at about 8 weeks and was shopping for maternity trousers by 10! It was such a blessed relief to put those trousers on!

Should really have guessed that something was up when I went for my 12 week scan in maternity clothes, but very few of my friends had had babies at that time so I just naively presumed it was normal!

My DH kept saying "I bet its twins" even though there were no twins in either family - he was pretty sure. I didn't suspect at all.

I've always been quite 'rounded' and I have just started showing this week (15 weeks) with my twins, in first pregnancy. Even now I am still wearing my jeans (with top button undone now) and in some clothes, it's not really noticable. My friend at work who is 6 weeks ahead of me with twins also started showing about about 15 weeks but is pretty big now though so I guess I'll catch up quickly. I had no idea I had twins in there, although very early on when my pregancy book was telling me my uterus was still in pelvis at that stage, I could definitely feel it above my pelvic bone.

Seven weeks! My waist thickened and my tummy stuck out very early. My breast became large quite quickly too.
