I finished with "my" twins today and am already missing them.

I had "my" first twins from Feb to June and this set from July until now.

I have had twins for most of this year.....what will i do without them?

Do any of you multiples mummies need any help? Days or nights?

I am based in St Albans, Herts.

Hello, lover-of-twins! Tell us twin/multiple mums why you love twins, it will make a nice change from strangers feeling sorry for us! (And not only strangers, my MIL seems to take great delight in saying "Rather you than me!"

because having 2 babies is so much more fun and rewarding.

Seeing 2 little smiles and knowing that you put them there

Knowing that you've played a part in "special" babies early lives. And multiples are special

The only downside to twins (yes i know there is one......) is the unhelpful comments from complete strangers!

My daughetr (almost 10) came to work with me (the mums asked me to before anyone jumps on me) twice with both sets of twins. She cried when we said goodbye to the first set of twins (they moved a long waw away) and i cried when i had to hand over my last set for the last time....but fortunately they are only 20 minutes away so i will still get to see them.

My daughter now keeps asking me to have twins but it isn't that easy is it?

Does this make me a bit odd (in a nice sort of way?)

You are so lucky! I would love twins, they aren't in our families though, so all I can do is hope we're doubly blessed and hope we conceive twins when we try for our next baby.

BTW, is there anything you can do to increase the chance of conceiving twins naturally?

Not really, Candy. However, eating yams has been suggested as having something to do with it (apparently twin conceptions are slightly higher in some African countries where yams form a large part of the diet). Unfortunately, though, most research suggests that indentical twins are a random genetic occurence and are not influenced by lifestyle/genetics, while non-identical twins tend to run along the female line with women who ovulate twice in a cycle (usually once from each ovary). That said, there was some research that suggested that some men carry an enzyme or something in their sperm that encourages the embryo to split, leading to identical twins. Don't know how you'd go about identifying one of these men, but you could try Japan as it tends to happen slightly more often there.

phraedd you could always offer babysitting for parents of twins?! I have been cm to a BG set of twins since they were 6mths, they are now 2 and a half and its soo lovely to see how they have grown and developed - i do love my time with them
