Hi - I have 15 month old twins and a 3 year old - all boys. I have been coping quite well but am noticing that my behaviour is changing. I am getting really grumpy with them and shouting, even throwing their toys at the wall on occassion.

I suffer from chronic back pain which doesn't help but I am very scared that it will get worse and I hate being like this.

Don't know what the problem is - I am a bit bored with being a stay-at-home mum - every day is hard work and although I love my boys, the days can be dull.

Can't afford to put them in nursery all the time - the twins go once a week at the mo. I just feel isolated and want to air my thoughts...

Hi fishburglar,

Sorry that you are feeling like this. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate with three young children. I don't think the fact you have chronic back pain is helping at all. Are you having it treated? Have you any family close by that can help out?

I know what you mean about the days been a bit dull. I have a 2 year old and I find it challenging but I am lucky that my mil has him one day a week and he stays over so I do get a break. I tend to go to yoga, have a massage, just time for me really.

Hi I can sympathise big time with you. I have 30month old twins.I sometimes feel as though i spend the entire day screaming like a harpy at them.
i did have pnd about 6weeks after they were born and that was completely different that felt as thought i was not totally there ican't really describe it but i knew something was wrong.
this stage of our life is just the terribel 2's.Again i never thought it would happen to us but i think it happens to everyone and mothers of twins and more even worse.
don't let it get you down, your children think you are the best thing in the world and eventually you'll feel it too

Hi, I have three boys too, twins who are five and a 15 month old year old. I have days where I feel overwhelmed quite honestly, my DH has been working away all week for the past year and it hasn't been easy. But there are better days too, if you can get out of the house do it to burn off their excess energy and try to spend your free nursery day looking after yourself rather than running errands. It is tough being a SAHM at times, their are days that I really envy my DH walking out the door and socialising after work. But you are doing a fantastic job, three boys is hard work and yours are all under 4! Look after yourself and don't hesitate to talk to a gp or a friend even if you feel overwhelmed.

Hi i have twin girls nearly 4 now and i had PND but didn't realise it till recently I care for them alone and didn't get out much (alone i mean with no family or external help) but now thwy go to kindergarden for mornings only and its great after cleaning and cooking i have 1 hour to myself and its fantastic! Before that i was shouting a lot and trying hard to stay in control but now its a bit easier, but hey if your are in pain that won't help your feelings hope you can get through this time and it gets better for you!

Aww, poor you. It's hard! I used to go to a toddler group/twins club/meet up with other Mums every day before I went back to work. I would have gone barking mad if I hadn't done this. Can you try to get out more? It's a lot of effort but well worth it!!
