If you've been pregnant with non identical twins what are the odds on getting pregnant with them again %?. I don't have twins but my last daughter was one of a set, sadly we lost the other earlier on causing problems that resulted in her being born prematurely. I know that non identical are the hereditary kind ( we also have nonid twins on my mothers side)

I was told by the hospital (and also by my lovely GP) that the chances of having multiples again was rather high. I don't, however, have percentages for you. Maybe the TAMBA website does.

Oh and I'm sorry for your loss

Ok thanks will have a look there though I have a feeling it may be subscription only. Otherwise I'll just google a fe sites.

Thanks Marslady. Its ok really. Sad, but I have my other children to help and I know I'm lucky compared to some.

Hang on then... I'll have a quick check.

Okay I found this:

----------------

if your twins are non id ( fraternal) then your chances of having more twins are 1 in 16 and if your twins are identical then your chances of having more twin is 1 in 500,000 according to statistics.
___

However, another poster was told that her chances were 80-90%

I can't find a scientific study but if I do I'll post it. Won't be tonight as I'm waiting on a client (I'm a doula) so need to get some sleep before she calls back.

Hope it helps and I'm glad that you have your family supporting you.

I read in a twins book that if you concieve within the first year of giving birth to twins that their is a 70% chance you will have another set. And then each year after the percentage goes down slighlty.

I have 2 sets of twins, when i went to my doctor when i found out i was pregnant again i asked him about it being another set...he laughed and said NO....no high chance at all! So when i went for my first scan and they said it had been triplets (one had died-so twins in the end) i was very shocked, when i told my g.p...he was very shocked too-so the book was right.

My first set were 2.10 years when i concieved the 2nd set.
