Had an ultrasound today internal one and as soon as the screen came on my husband said is that twins and the sonographer said you've got a good eye. As the scan went on something was visible in the sac on the left but not yet in the sac on the right which made him question if it was a hematoma or a second sac. My friend had twins and her scan looked very similar to mine. Whats other peoples thoughts and opinions? Had bloods done as images were not very clear to determine via pregnancy but we definitely seen a flicker in one sac

Did the sonographer not clarify? When will you find out for sure?

What did the sonographer say?

Shinyandnew1 · 19/12/2025 18:11

Surely the sonographer would have been able to tell you more than anyone here?

Hi, no he didnt. This was an NHS scan and I was pretty disappointed leaving the scan room. He basically said one sac had something inside but cant say for definite if its a yolk sac/fetal pole as it was so close to the edge of the sac, then said he couldnt see anything in the other sac and it may be a hematoma? ... ive had a hematoma with previous babies and its never been noticeable like that sac was. He also said when he moved the probe the smaller sac was like a sausage shape. As I said in original post as soon as the internal probe went in my husband said instantly is that twins, two sacs? ... he replied good eyes and then still didnt confirm a viable pregnancy as it wasnt a clear image. Ive had internals before and feel he wasnt using enough pressure to get a good image as normally during internals they have a good look around and it is uncomfortable at times. I had blood test done which will be repeated on monday and another scan on 5th Jan was just looking for other opinions. On the the scan report he wrote 2 sacs? So I think he was unsure too which wasn't the best
