Best car seat for newborns to 4yrs

Want to try and buy a car seat to last as long as possible as we'll have to buy for two but concerned about saftely for newborn stage. Does anyone have any recommendations? Not worried about being able to take the car seat in and out of the car

I can’t see how a seat that would fit Grp 0-1 would be able to last that long.

I'm also trying to figure out best value carseat. Is there really that much difference between them all. Are the expensive ones just a matter of being more comfortable but are just as safe as the cheaper ones?
