I have identical twin girls aged 10 weeks and I thought I could tell the difference between them and would always be able to coz a mummy really should know her kiddies . Up until now it was fairly easy because one is 1.5lbs heavier then the other BUT I just spent 20mins cuddling and cooing over gorgeous daughter X only to realise that she is actually Y when I put her back in her bouncy chair beside her sister. Please tell me that you get your identical twins confused also otherwise I'll feel like a terrible mummy

Well I knew a set of identical twins when I was younger and their parents had to dress Sue in Blue and Gaynor in red or pink to tell the difference! They used to play tons of tricks on their parents too. They were the most identical, identical twins i've ever seen though. I know another set and they were easy to tell apart.

Oh I also know Identical twin boys who have 2 identical twin older brothers so their mum has four sons with 2 faces!

Years of 'fun' ahead for me then. I didn't think they were that alike until very recently - one had a growth spurt and has caught up with the other and now they really are identical.

I always wanted to be a twin especially an identical one. You are very blessed and so are they.

my mum had the girls bracelets on for a while and then when they were a bit older they had a proper bracelet (ones you tend to get a christening?) erm....... oh and one wore yellow one wore pink as they got bigger and more awake and alert it got easier. i think its harder to tell when they are still so young small and squishy

YouNeverKnow · 04/05/2008 22:09

the girls are my sisters by the way lol my dad is a twin but has a sister so that was easy for my nan!!
