Morning

I am going to start a thread on MN that says AIBU - Why does my 10 yr old think he is newborn when it comes to sleep!!!!!

He was asleep for 11 - I crept up the stairs to bed and that is like the signal for him to begin.

I could hear the sigh first, then the tutting, then the 'loud' whisper of 'I hate sleeping - who's great invention was that.'
Then the standing at the side of the bed waiting for me to say 'What do you want!!'

So lets play musical beds time. An hour conversation about Yugio cards and Ben10 - with my face like this . He went to sleep at 5am.

I got back in my bed to find DH like the sausage in the sausage roll - quilt wrapped around and around him

I gave up and came down about 2 hours ago. Any great ideas short of a hammer to DS head or some illegal drugs of some kind?? (for either DS or me )

triplets · 21/03/2008 08:47

Goodmorning Shabby,
Oh poor you! I would send him back to bed and tell him to read or put him on a Nintendo!Mind you my sleep was not much better, Dh up three times, each time in the loo for about 15mins, that worries me, then he was up again at 6am and came down, so I stayed put until 7.15am, James got up, school day he`s in his bed until 8am, did I say last night we could have a lie in? Must stop reading about athritus, every bone seemed to ache in bed, grim reading, need to pray for a cure! Freezing here this morning and very windy, no buses so looks like it will be clean the cooker day for me! What is everybody else up to?

Oj pops in and leaves cake for all.

Morning trips my love. You know Tom!! I have tried every tip, every remedy, every suggestion and most of the time I can cope with him. He really is not at all naughty at night he just has no desire to sleep.

He often would just like to talk (sounds like his mum!!) If the slightest little thing gets on his mind during the day I know we are in for a bad night.

He was on the computer whilst I was watching Emmerdale last night. At one point it moved me to snotty tears and I had to gulp down the sound I wanted to make. His head flipped around and he said 'You ok Mum?' To which I said 'Im fine thanks love' in a half very loud snotty sob way!! That's what must have been bothering him.

He said I wish I had been here when my brothers died I could have helped you

shabster · 21/03/2008 08:54

This is a cheery thought for a Friday morning - sorry about that Trips - enjoy your day without the little trips, we aren't doing anything either - but I refuse to clean the cooker

Ta for the cakes OJ xxx

shabster · 21/03/2008 09:11

Have tied my unruly locks up in a very tight high ponytail which has pulled some of the wrinkles out Can just about face the mirror now!! I looked like one of those Sharpea (thats not the right spelling) dogs - you know the ones that are very, very wrinkled

triplets · 21/03/2008 09:14

Hi Oj, fancy you having time to think of us multipple mummies? Wish you would pop in here more, you know madness helps! Its ok Shabby, I feel as though the world owes me atm, the thing that worries me is that are we overloading our grief onto them, they shouldn`t be living with our sadness, its not fair. I feel as though my poor things are in for a rough time, what with what might be going to happen with Harry and now me with RA, Thomas being dyslexic, our ages, often think in the small of the night, WHAT HAVE WE DONE.But too late now, just will have to get on with it and hope it will turn out not to be as bad as it could be. Need to win the lottery, would buy a place somewhere warm and invite you all out!

Trips - I think our Danny is a good example of the survival instinct of children.

I was thinking last night - he has lost two brothers, we had six close family members who we lost in 1995/6 - he has witnessed DH and my turbulant, weird marriage etc etc etc..but all that crap stuff has made him a magnificent man [boast and brag emoticon]

Do you remember when we both found out we were pregnant - you with the trips and me with tom??? We were laughing till we cried on the phone. We are great mums, we are survivors, things will be ok, I KNOW they will. Hang in there love. Summer is just around the corner. Try not to worry about things you cant change - will always and forever be here for you

shabster · 21/03/2008 09:28

Oh FGS tomster is on his way down - that makes 4hours 30 mins sleep - and just think we can do it all again tonight. Speak later ladies

triplets · 21/03/2008 09:31

Love you Shabby...........mean that with all my heart, true friends are a rarity these days, thats what you are to me. So love being in touch with you thru here daily now, and of course all this typing is good for my fingers, ha ha! Right, three lots of homework are about to be done before they go out, Dh is already out working and bless him has knocked up a cake for tomorrow! Talk later, big fish, little fish, deep fat fryer........

triplets, sadness is as you know part of life we can only shield kids some of the time.
sorry I am not up to date on Harris health stuff, what's happening with him? I have arthritis (can't spell it thou) in my back mostly but my wrists join in too. I manage ok most of the time with it, the only problem is that I can't lift the Hoover, but thats more a blessing.cos someone else has to do it

shabster · 21/03/2008 11:44

Tigs - [raspberry emoticon] 'can watch it if I want so ner'

Ta trips - tomster is quite enticed by your offer - but just sighed and said 'I'm not even allowed to go up to Josh's cause its too far and across too many busy roads

Sure the re-run of Emmerdale is on ITV2 later!!

TiggerTailsTimesThree · 21/03/2008 13:45

Why you little rascal!!!!

shabster · 21/03/2008 14:04

Tigs - you know how to link stuff dont you??? Try and find us something on Youtube showing 'big fish, little fish, cardboard box' dance. Trying to explain on here last night and Rubester had no idea what I was talking about! Mind you, I don't blame her, I struggle with my mind at times too

Tomster and Joshster have just been sat at this computer with an earphone each singing a song, something to do with Ben 10. I am sure it had a line that ended with Tampons every time they sang it they screamed laughing!! I curse Year 6 sex education classes.

shabster · 21/03/2008 14:36

Awww girls - the gay brown man just telephoned me!! Awww - all the way from Greenwich. He calls me MUM!! I had forgotten so many good memories of him. I do, however, remember that he was one of Danny's 'waif and stray' friends that I used to take to and from school!! He told me how grateful he was for all those days - awwwwwww I will have to try and find some more of Tomsters W & S if it is so important to them

triplets · 21/03/2008 14:44

Hiya trips - leave the dam cooker!!

triplets · 21/03/2008 14:51

Hi Oj,
I didnt want to worry you with our problems, you have so much to deal with. Well Harry is awaiting a biopsy and CT scan result, should be next week I think. He has had an abnormal bowel problem for 6 months, would not go to the docs until I forced him in Jan. Been seen by a consultant and they have found an 8cm growth which is not a polyp in his bowel. We have been beside ourselves with worry for weeks. On top of it I had blood done for my aching joints which three doctors have said its my age, normal wear and tear. Saw a different lady doctor who listened, ran some blood and it came back last Tues, a positive reading for rheumatoid athritus! I have to see a specialist on the 31st. I know its not the end of the world but I just do not need it, I am 56 tomorrow and have 3 active 10 yr olds! Then on Mon at school consultations Thomass teacher has finally said he thinks Thomas is dyslexic, I have been saying it for 5 years! Then our Ford Galaxy died on us on the way to the hospital for Harrys scan! Apart from that...........were fine
