Blighted ovums

Been having 3 back to back blighted ovum pregnancy miscarriages. Am scared of getting pregnant again. Anyone who has been through this and successfully had a viable pregnancy and what was done different for the successful pregnancy. Please help.

@Callmeslonge that must be so difficult. I had what they thought might be a blighted ovum but was a partial Molar, I can't imagine what having 3 in a row is doing to you.

Have they referred you and your DP/DH for any checks? I'm not sure what they would do but I think the first thing would be to look at your DP's sperm to just check that isn't the problem before they do any tests in you

Yes, as I understand it, it can be either the sperm or the egg that hasn't passed on its genetics so it seems sensible that DH/DP has his sperm checked before anything with you, which could be much mo d invasive

Hello again @Callmeslonge, I've been thinking about you and your thread. Have you got any follow ups at all? If not, would DH/DP be willing to go to the GP with you?

Well, We only did a pathology test of the remains but didn't get any answers. We are looking into getting tested further. But also I have anemia so I don't know if that could be a cause

It's some years since they thought mine was a Blighted Ovum but I can't remember them mentioning my iron levels.

Are you on any iron supplements?
