Where's Tomster's poem then?

Can't believe you've all caved to the dreaded tiredness and are now sleeping. Bah humbug!

shabster · 11/03/2008 07:13

Morning ladies.

No coughing! No spewing!

Thats cause Tomster has Tigs in his heart

Will put poem here after I drop kick deposit said boy in playground. Just a poem he wrote for mothers day when he was about 6.

shabster · 11/03/2008 08:20

Almost ready to set off for school run. Have not opened living room curtains yet for fear of the waifs and strays that I know will be gathered outside

At least 6, mainly boys, will be there! NONE of their mums work but I get the job of escourting them to school.

I know I don't have to - I just worry that they will come to some harm.

I look like Maria from the Sound of Music walking up the hill to primary school.

'The hills are alive with the sound of music....'

HarrogateMum · 11/03/2008 08:28

shabster · 11/03/2008 09:44

Mars - as promised - I present a Mothers day ode written by Tomster (on the back of the card there is a date and he was 4)

Dear Mum,

You are as sweet as a toffee,
You are as kind as a mouse,
You are as cool as a cucumber,
and you are as loving as God.

I love you and the love is the galaxy,
When I was born I hope you were happy,
So I love you and I hope you love me too.

When I see you, you are as sweet as can be
And you are like sugar and spice
And you are as smart as a teacher
And I hope you never die.

HarrogateMum · 11/03/2008 09:47

awwww Shabs, that is soooo cute! And blooming good for a 4 year old! Clearly a genius you have there.........

I may not be on for a while, I have got my family history bug back and am researching like a nutter, must be FG's fault, it all centres round Edinburgh where my Dad is from......or it could be Triplet's fault as my great grandfather was from Deal.....hmmmm can I blame anyone else?

shabster · 11/03/2008 09:50

Ta HM - he is a clever lad - hoping for great things from him

Know what you mean about the family history thing - we are currently researching DH dads line. Luckily they (up to 1860) are all born in Bedwelty, South Wales. All the men are miners and there are 1,000's of kids

can't stop, now off shopping.

Have to say thank you again to fg, your letter writing idea was genius. dd was a bit teary over the weekend and today I got a letter from dd explaining her feelings. It's really helping her talk about things which she would never have said to me in converstaion. It was hard to read, she feels like I prefer ds1 more than her. It made me realise that I need to talk to her more, and she doesn't always understand his sn and why he needs more attention, especially when we are out she feels pushed aside. I'm really proud of her for writing down how she feels, and have promised her some time at the weekend.

shabster · 11/03/2008 09:57

Morning Rubester - you ok?

Morning chopster - frumpster is ace isint she? I lurve the idea of our DC writing down feelings. I do that when things get on top of me

ChopsTheDuck · 11/03/2008 10:02

4! That is amazing. Great work, Tomster.

shabster · 11/03/2008 10:04

Ta Chops - I thought he was older but the date is on the back. He has always been like that, he excels at school and loves every minute of it. I have had a clever shy son (who had to work very hard to achieve good grades) DS3 was number and letter dislexic and then Tomster. Often wonder if its because we were older, and only had Tom (DS1 was 16 yrs when tom was born) we maybe spent much more time reading etc?

shabster · 11/03/2008 10:09

Tom never, ever slept through the night - not until he was 5 years old. You ask trips how many times she has telephoned and he is still up and running! Even now, his amount of hours sleeping are very low. There have been times when I have almost lost the will to live

My HV always says thats cause he is very clever.

DS1 just nods and smiles at him when he says - Dan its the SAT exams in May, I cant wait!!

DS1 says then to me 'God mum he's a weirdo'

Hi Rubster - I must be still tired - I read the word bobos in the word Robomop

Now I have stupid pictures in my head.

Tomster had a poem printed in a book but it is very mean and moody I will go and search the book out and put it on here.

Bobomop - OMG I have lost the plot

ChopsTheDuck · 11/03/2008 10:30

I still havent managed to get out the door. I think the boys have been stuck indoors too much lately. They are treating the stairs like an astroglide. Getting IN their pillow cases, then sliding down.

I wish I was small enough to join in.

Found it - the book is called Little Laureates of the North West!

It says Tomster (aged 9)

They were learning about Greek Mythology and had to write a poem about an evil monster called the Chimera (no I have never heard of it either )

The Chimera was an evil beast
A reign of terror,
For many, many years.

The lion's head roared with rage,
The goat's body galloped with glory,
The serpent's tail hissed with hate.

Appollo, he slayed the giant beast!
He took it to the limit,
He stabbed it to it's death
The poison from its heart,

Think he's gonna be a Goth
Its demise.

shabster · 11/03/2008 10:36

It's demise should have been the last line DOH

Then the line about him being a Goth

He loves the Jezzer show!!

He watches, then tuts and says 'babies having babies!'

My mum, Dotster, has a lot of input into the mind of the Tomster

Hope you dont mind me asking Rubes but I need to know! - Where are you location wise and how long have you been 21 (sounds better than asking your age right out loud)

I love older (18 plus) DS's - they are toddlers trapped inside big hairy, sweaty, bodies
