Just had my first scan at almost 9 weeks and I am expecting triplets. I'm so shocked!! I have older kids at home and this is hard to sink in. I'm was so unprepared for this news. Any other triplet mums about for advice will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations! I know of a couple of triplet mums through my local twins and multiples group. Our group has started running antenatal sessions for mums expecting multiples. Check out your local multiples group, there may be a similar support.

Best of luck for your pregnancy. I know how shocking it is to find out you’re having twins, must be even more so with triplets.

Gosh congratulations x3! How amazing and how are you feeling? And I wonder how much older the others are as hope all will go really well and that they’ll enjoy being helpful . Very best with your pregnancy

Congratulations! I'm a triplet mum who are nearly 4. I'll not lie it's a brutal couple of years at first. I found lots of help from Instagram triplet families and from another triplet mum I know.

Key things
Expect a long NICU stay
Get out with them and do all the things you would with just one
Ask for help - regular help
Homestart is a charity that can send a volunteer- you can self refer
Lower your standards re housework
Plan everything in advance
You will be exceptionally tired
You can do this
People with singletons do not understand nor have the same challenges - take their advice with a pinch of salt
Buy everything second hand

Please do message and I can get you added to the triplet Facebook groups

I don’t have triplets and it isn’t the same at all I’m sure, but I do have 2 sets of twins 16months apart. Fairly brutal so far as others have said but a blessing. It’s one of those things where people say “oh I don’t know how you cope” etc etc but like anything in life you just get on with it and get through it and some days are great and you feel on top of things and other days not so much. Agree with pp who said planning and not expecting a super tidy house though!

Not me but I once met a superwoman who had identical triplet boys. Then went on to have a girl. All grown when I met her and I said she must feel like she can do anything. She said funnily enough she doesn't know how she did it, but the boys were still all best mates and she said it was hard work but amazing at the same time.
Hope all is progressing well and you are able to keep cool in this heat!
