Sleeping help….28weeks with twins

Hiya - really struggling to get comfy enough to get much sleep - I’m 28 weeks pregnant with twins and know I can’t sleep flat on my back or my front!! LHS is advisable but after about an hour I get terrible pains in thigh and hip so need to turn onto RHS - which I can only do for about 10 mins due to position of one of the babies making it very uncomfortable so end up sleeping almost sitting upright.
I’ve tried a big pregnancy U shape cushion but didn’t get on too well with it!
Any ideas to help?? I’m desperate to get a good nights sleep!! 😴

Urgh it’s so so difficult isn’t it. When I didn’t have raging heartburn I couldn’t get comfortable.

I didn’t have the U shaped pillow I just had a long thin one, I used to hug it at the top and then have the bottom half in between my knees. Helped me get a little bit more sleep.

I also did a few of the sleep podcasts that used to relax me a little.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and hope you manage to get a comfy spot xx

You’re not alone OP! I have twin in my ribs & the other one on my bladder! I bought a bellamoon pillow & I think the crescent design helps with hip pain. I hug the top bit & tuck the middle under my hip. I have the bottom half between my knees. I don’t toss & turn as much now. I also massage my hips with oil before I sleep & use a sleep spray. Anything to help!

Thankyou for your reply - it’s appreciated
Yeah the heartburn is pretty awful too isn’t it - feel like I’ve got every single symptom in the book not just a select few!!! 😭
Thanks very much for the sleep pod cast idea and for letting me know I’m not alone in my quest for comfort & sleep!! X

It’s so very hard, I remember it well. At your stage I could only sleep sitting up with two huge cushions propping me up. Look after yourself, you’re doing a wonderful job.

I moulded a single duvet around my body

@LuckyDC yep I’ve got one baby that seems to love sitting high in the ribs - it’s so painful! And then the other one with feet kicking my bladder, leading to several bathroom trips during the night!! 🤯 I’ll look at the Bellamoon thanks for the recommendation and for letting me know I’m not alone!
@Goodmorninglights oh really…. I thought it was ridiculous that I spend most of the night sleep upright and can’t imagine 8 more weeks of it 😭 thanks for the kind words and boost!
@blueplantpop - did you roll up the duvet or just squish it up?
Thanks xx

I kind of moulded it around my body so it supported the bump and my back- it may have been a double duvet! My twins were quite large and sleep was difficult - but they were worth it!! Good luck xx

@blueplantpop Thankyou! I’ll give it a try! X
