Hi everyone so to cut a long story straight, my twin girls was born at 29 weeks, there now nearly 7 months old, one of my girls head seems to be slightly bigger on one side, like when you look from the top they is a slanting, she used to prefer to sleep on that side, and when I have been Googling it does say it happens when they sleep on one side more, I have tried to get her to sleep on the other side, and when I’m feeding I’m putting her the other side, my question is has anyone else Baby had this? And does it rectify itself? Thanks

Yes - both of my twins had this. It's more common with multiples because they're more cramped in the womb, so their necks muscles don't necessarily develop evenly (torticollis), making it more comfortable for them to sleep on one particular side.

We found that Mimos pillows made a big difference, but we used them at a younger age than yours are (became a bit uneasy about it once they could roll!) But I think that when they were spending more time awake and sitting independently, that helped too.

Mine are now 14 months and if you feel their heads, you can tell they're still uneven - but it's improved to the point that it's not visibly noticeable any more.

Thankyou so much for replying @PowerslidePanda yes that makes sense, well they spent the first 3 months in hospital so since we’ve been home we did the feed on the other side and stuff I was just worried that it wasn’t getting much better, but if it helps when there sitting more instead of laying down I will try to not worry about it so much 😂

My twins had this mildly but it went - another friend’s twins had it much more significantly and they had to have helmets for a while but that improved things.

Are you still under neonatal? One of my twins had head growth issues (from tiny to top of the graph in a short period) and they did a scan to be safe, so I would definitely bring this up with a consultant either way so they can assess

Aww bless I hope it doesn’t come to that, hers isn’t really that noticeAble so hopefully it will sort itself out, I am yes, I’m going to mention it on my next appointment, I have mentioned it before and they wasn’t concerned, do you mind me asking what age yours started getting more normal shape @SinkGirl
