Sleeping arrangements for twins? - 2 moises baskets/one shared cot/two cots...?

Friend is expecting twins next spring and has Q's: Do twins disturb each other if they share a bed? Can you put them in a cot together? How do you make it cosy? I don't know, I had my babies one by one! Do you need twice as much clothing or one and a half times?..... Advice please!

my girl/boy twins are 6 mths and shared a cotbed until they were 5 mths. They were swaddled at first then went into grobags. They get used to each other and now sleep in their own cotbeds about a foot apart.

not sure on the clothing as they can't really shared.

Thanks! By cotbed do you mean a cot like in the photo (sweet babies btw !) or those ones that are bigger than a moises basket but smaller than a cot?

cotbed can be turned into a bed when they start climbing out of cot

don't bother with moses baskets, they can share a cot until they need more space. my boy (2yrs) is now climbing out of his cot to climb in and sleep with his sister

Clothes depends on their sex and size, some things you can pass down from one to the other esp when they are little and it doesn't matter what colour their sleepsuits and vests are!

One of the best things I bought were two vibrating rocker/bouncy chairs that reclined flat (from Toys R Us).

yes that 'cot' in the photo is a cot bed and as dd666 says they converts into a bed by taking the sides off. Already had one so just had to buy another.

Mine still share and they're 3.8yrs. I tried the separate bed thing but they end up with each other night after night after night.

Much cheaper to pop them in one moses basket then one cot. They are completely used to being with each other and I personally found that they slept better when together than when apart!

mine do share vests and some trousers which are unisex and in the beginning I dressed them in newborn white babygros for ease for me - not everyone else, as they couldn't tell the difference (no idea why, as he is bigger and they don't even look alike )

My girls (now 14 weeks) shared a hospital cot for the first 2 weeks until we got home (born at 35 weeks), then shared a moses basket for a further 3 weeks.

They loved being together and got quite agitated when we tried to split them up, then they just got too big and it was more comfy for them to be apart.

They'll probably share a cot for a while when they outgrow their baskets, although it's up to them really, if they settle better apart then that's what we'll do.

I didn't bothered with a moses basket as never used one for ds1 and already had the cotbed so it saved money. The bouncy chairs were fantastic and they have just outgrown them so going in the paper next week.
