Night nurse

Does anyone know how / where to find a good night nurse? We'd like some help with our twins once or twice during the week and want to make sure it is someone who is qualified and safe.

I've just finished 2 nights a week with twins. I got that position from an agency. They will have checked references and interviewed the person. They should also have a current CRB certificate.

Yon - Well done on taking responsible decisions, I wish I thought of that when my twins were little (now 4yo) Congratulations and good luck!

I have Home Start, thats a voluntary help service, a lady comes round once a week, for a couple of hours, you can go to bed, have a bath, do your housework or just sit and chat! but it is lovely to look forward to that adult company!

You need alllllll the rest and help you can get!

Where do you live Yon? I know an agency in London who got us a great night nurse.

Thanks for the responses. Trying to help my husband do his job and me get better (probs with caesarean). Feeling a bit guilty having someone else look after our babies (8 weeks old). Our family help lots but I think it'll be good for all of us if we get some outside help sometimes. We live just outside London (north east) so it would be great if you could let me know the agency you used helphelphelphelp. If your night nurse was that good please could you let me know her name?

Does anyone have any advice on feeding both of them at the same time? They are bottle fed and one of them is very wriggly!

Yon - Don't feel guilty, your not 'superwoman' actually yes you are, but don't think you have to be all the time - I had alot of family help to start off with, but they think you cope, and things are fine when they are around, its when you are by yourself that I first started feeling alone, it so daunting.

I had to feed babys separately, as I had something wrong with my arms after I gave birth, had physio for their 1st year. The onlu other option is in 2 little baby chairs with you kneeling on the floor, arms outstretched [ouch] eat plenty of spinach!
