Hello! Currently pregnant with DCDA twins b/g. Just had a cervical length scan yesterday and my measurement was 30mm, it’s dropped down from 35mm from last week and 40mm from 20 week scan. Doctor has doubled up my progesterone dose and told me to take it easy.

I know the measurement is not terrible by any means but I’m worried how fast it’s shortening. Anyone else who measured similarly at this gestation with twins? What was your measurement and what week did you give birth? Did you have shortening around this gestation?

I’m just praying they won’t arrive before 28 weeks so they stand a good chance of being healthy. I have had 4 miscarriages and losing them too would break my heart.

Didn't want to leave this unanswered. Hope you're OK and managing to take it easy and not be consumed with worry.

My experience sounds a bit different to yours, and was more than 10 years ago so protocols might have changed! I went from 29mm at the 20week scan (below 30 was their cut-off for treating it as an issue and monitoring) to 17mm two weeks later. I had a cervical stitch put in and did a lot of resting. Twins were born by planned CS at 38 weeks.

From what I remember, the cervix can lengthen again as well as shorten. In my case, it was not so much the length they were worried about (though obviously that was worrying), as the fact there was funnelling, so I think if there isn't any funnelling that is reassuring.

I hope some of that is helpful and that you are another week on and doing OK.
