Twin discordance - second trimester

I'm about 17 weeks with DI/DI twins - boy/girl via IVF

Had a private scan yesterday and the twin discordance was measured at 26% - I know above 20% they start to worry but this was a private scan and won't see the NHS For a scan/consultant until the 20 week one. Or should I call them to tell them?

Has anyone had discordance of that level?

My little girl has consistently measured small all along. I transferred 2 embryos - one fresh one frozen and one was hatching the other an expanded blastocyst so some size discrepancy I'd imagine would be expected?

Hi OP,
It’s a while since you posted but I wanted to say I had a rushed section because they measured a difference of 31% at 36 weeks. The NHS cut off is 18% I believe. It was complete tosh! The babies were quite similar in size. Scanning is an art, not a science.

Hope it’s going well for you. Flowers

Thanks for replying! I never realised how quiet the multiple boards are!
It's another long wait until the 20 week scan next week so hopefully I'll get more information then - the last scan was private where the difference was measured so large and at the only other NHS scan I've had the difference was only about 5 days. I know it's not considered as serious when it's fraternal twins especially when they know IVF involved embryos of totally different stages just one more thing to worry about! Plus I'm worried they say they'll do the c section early because she it much smaller x
