Two year old twins. It gets easier right?

I can't take them at the moment. There are three days a week when I am the 'lone parent' and I dread them. Their behaviour when they are with just me is awful. Throwing, hitting, demanding, pushing, screaming etc etc. I can't get through to them and I don't know what else to do.

My neighbours must think I'm a failure as the amount of shouting is bonkers. Bribery sometimes works and the only time they stop is when the tv is on (like it is just now), but I can't have the tv on all day as my boy will just sit and stare.

Please tell me it gets easier and if anyone has any tips to get through this I'd be very grateful.

Oh God, are you me?! My DT are 2 and a half and I feel exactly the same!!! Some days they are an absolute joy to be around and I see them play together happily for 90 secs then they start fighting and it all kicks off. They both want my attention at the exact same time but cannot bear to 'share' me...it's utterly exhausting.
I have no words of wisdom I'm afraid, but wanted to let you know you are not alone! I hear it gets easier in the next few years and until then there is always wine!!!

Have you tried tablets with yours? I just picked some kindles up in the sale but I'm worried that'll add an extra layer of fighting.

I thought by tablets you meant drugs. Prozac might be a help!

My DT are only -2 weeks but can see this coming.

To be honest I’m so glad you’ve posted this- my 20 month old twins are exactly the same..... it’s exhausting!!!

I was coming to this board to post pretty much the same thing! My twins are 3.5 and my older boy is 4 and they have been particularly horrendous for the last week.

Fighting, wrestling, slapping, demanding my attention all the time.

The twins potty trained at the beginning of the summer and there are endless wee stops, some false starts but you can’t take the chance.

Getting out of the house works best; parks, woods , the beach. We’ve had to stop going to particular playgrounds because they will be fighting over one particular piece of equipment and it just escalates so quickly.

I’m a teacher, so back to school in about 10 days. I feel guilty that I can’t wait to go back to work. I’m ground down by them at the moment. My DH is writing a thesis and working so he’s not around very much at the moment and it just all feels relentless.

When I take one twin out of the mix, the other 2 are like dream children. I find myself wishing I didn’t have twins sometimes and I hate that feeling because I adore them all Confused
