Sleeping Arrangement for Triplets ?

We have been older twins who shared a cot for as long as possible and we'd like to do the same for the triplets if possible.
We're thinking of getting a double wide cot and putting two to one end and one to the other or one at each edge.
Has anyone else tried this or do most people just put them straight into separate cots?

I have seen a video of someone joining together two cots so their twins could keep sharing after they were too big to share one cot.

I don't see why you couldn't do this for triplets apart from the fact the single triplet might be uncomfortable on the join between two mattresses. But you could put two either end of one mattress and one on the other mattress. Or maybe you could turn a single bed into a cot and lay them all side by side?

I know TAMBA have guidance on multiples sharing a cot so probably worth having a look at that and ask them if it doesn't answer your question.

We had our triplets in a BIG cot and lay them in a row widthways. We bought two special 'roll cushions' online which velcroed onto the bottom sheet so the couldn't roll onto each other. They slept like this (very well and very happily!) until they were 10 months old. They had plenty of room but seemed to appreciate that they could hear each other - they slept through the night from four months :)
