Twins - 1 with allergies

I have 7.5mth old g/b twins
One has food allergies - the other doesn’t.

How will I cope later when they try sharing foods?
I have to be careful now that one doesn’t pick up what the other drops 🙄

Feed them the same food so they can share and the one with allergies doesn't feel left out

Sorry, can't agree with above poster - you can't limit both because of one's allergies. Twin without allergies needs access to all foods. I think they'll try and share less than you think. Just be careful about when/how you give access to food - you'll be able to be vigilant then.

I have twins and there is no stopping them when it comes to sharing/pickings things up. If the allergies are severe then you'll need to have a household that suits the allergy. The non allergic Twin can maybe have the other things when you're out and about.

We had a period of thinking my boy had a bit allergy- so we became a bit free household. Thankfully he doesn't.

It depends whether it is just , say, dairy or eggs or wheat , in which case both babies can eat the same perhaps excluding night time milk if they are bottle feeding or whether it is multiple allergies. A close family member had similar and until babies understood ie at least nursery age they didn't have dairy products or egg or soya on the menu or in the fridge. Child 2 was breast fed and then had his milk and child 1 had their 'special 'milk ' it was quite normal for them and worked well. If of course the allergies are a lot more complicated then your adjustment will be very difficult .

How bad is the allergy?

If it's not anaphylactic just make sure you always have Piriton to hand.

He has CMPA, Can’t have Soya or Corn - unsure on the severity yet but we think it’s just ingesting that causes the problems - no anaphylaxis as yet.

So far we have given different foods, as far as yogurt, biscuit etc
They are both bottle fed now so they just have their milks in different colour bottles to not cause confusion.

I don’t want to limit one diet if it doesn’t need to be.
I also have a dairy free diet and I have a Lactose Intolerant son so we know what we are doing mostly, but the thought of the twins swapping biscuits etc worries me already
