I'm 20 weeks pregnant with twins and I've gained 12lbs just wondering where other twins mums to be are at?

I'm 11 weeks and have probably gained that already!

Half joking.. obviously HmmGrin

That sounds like a healthy amount of weight to of gained OP Smile

I'm 19 weeks with twins and I think I was about 9st7lb when I got pregnant, then dropped to about 9st2lb due to nausea, now that's all gone I am 10st3lb as of this morning. So that is what, er, 10lb so far? so pretty similar!

NewChip · 08/09/2017 10:24

I was reading for twins around 20-30 lbs was expected by week 20 which seems excessive to me. Glad we're about the same

Guess it also depends on what type of twins, I was remembering how amazed I was at the size of DD's placenta when she was born - two of those (like I have) is going to really add to the weight and size as we go along!
Although I haven't put on huge amounts yet I feel ready to give up on proper clothes already! My maternity jeans are skinny and such a huge effort to get on and off, DH has to pull them off me! Wondering if I can get away with leggings and joggers for the remaining 18 weeks or so...

NewChip · 08/09/2017 11:33

I'm still in my normal jeans with a belt expander and belly band covering the zip. My twins are DCDA so a placenta each. H&M are funny for sized I'll always struggle to get it right with normal jeans. I'm tall aswell, I've ordered a few pairs online waiting for delivery. Will have to see which ones fit and send the others back. I'm so tired recently I think I'd pass out on the bed struggling to get them on and off Grin

Hey, I'm nearly 23 weeks now and have put on 13lb so far, quite relieved really!

OnlyHereForTheFeminists · 08/09/2017 17:31

I don't remember my weight at 20 weeks, but I'd put on 4 stones by the time they were born! Blush

NewChip · 08/09/2017 17:46

13lbs is great Smile I'm sitting here eating a salad feeling rather smug but also wondering how long I can't keep the chocolate cravings at bay. Never had a sweet tooth but can't get enough!

I think I put on 2.5 stones in total by the time mine were born (at 37 weeks). I gained the first 0.5 stone by 12 weeks Hmm

NewChip · 08/09/2017 17:53

Sorry Onlyhere missed your message. Wowzers 4 stone. How big were the babies if you don't mind me asking?

OP posts:
Jasharps · 08/09/2017 17:56

I gained 4 stone too. Babies were DCDA and 6lb 15oz and 6lb 3oz. They're 2 and I'm still trying to shift excess! Blush

OnlyHereForTheFeminists · 08/09/2017 18:22

Total combined weight of the babies was almost 1 stone. Probably the same weight in placentas and fluid. The rest was takeaways and chocolate Grin

dangle90 · 08/09/2017 18:57

I was already a size 14 so really anxious about the weight gain. It will all probably pile on soon enough because I haven't really been eating healthy... lemon muffins seem to keep calling my name 😂

Salva91 · 20/09/2017 09:01

I had low weight before my pregnancy. I had single pregnancy but gain too much weight. In my 5th month, I gained 9lbs. It was too much for me. I never thought of it. I thought that the baby would be weak like me Wink . I asked many times during my ultrasound if baby is low weight. They said no it's healthy one. That's why they decided for a c-section. Because I couldn't gave birth it normal. My baby bones was too small as compared to baby health. It was 3.6kg at birth time. No one was expecting it so healthy. My little doll was so cute and healthy. I really focused a lot on my diet during pregnancy. I ate a lot of fruits, dairy products, nuts. It helped me a lot for my child.

MamaDeeGee · 27/09/2017 19:44

Around 20 weeks i hadnt gained much tbh i looked skinnier everywhere but my bump but by delivering at 37+5 id gained over 4 stone,

The boys are currently 13 days old and iv lost 3 and half just from delivery x

NewChip · 27/09/2017 20:00

@MamaDeeGee that is the best news I’ve heard all week. Weight is coming on thick and fast now. My sister is getting married and I had to try on bridesmaid dress today for length. I’m 5’10 and normally size 10. I had to try on a size 16 to go over the bump and lay properly for length. I was super depressed. Your message has given me hope

moggle · 01/10/2017 13:16

I'm now 10st12 so that's 9lb in 3 weeks. Helped by a holiday in Italy although I couldn't eat a lot of stuff I wanted to!

moggle · 01/10/2017 13:17

Oh yeah I've actually put a load of maternity clothes on eBay today as I've grown out of it at 22 weeks and won't be pregnant again. Starting to wear DH's clothes around the house....
