I remember thinking taking one baby swimming was difficult but now I'd like to take my twins to the local pool Confused does anyone know of a good swimming ring for twins?

Check if they will let you take two by yourself as our local pools specify 1:1 for children under the age of 4

You need two adults. How are you even going to get in the pool with two babies?

twinmom90 · 15/08/2016 18:55

Oh I will have my dp too. No way could I do it alone I know that

If there's two of you just hold one each! You don't really need a ring to put them in.

Twinswimfloat.com. Looks a good one.

twinmom90 · 15/08/2016 19:43

Thanks 43percent I'll have a look. I don't want to have to hold them though as would like them to have some independence

My local leisure centre has a ratio of 1:2 for 4 and under.

I took my twins alone from 18 months. It is a shallow pool so wasn't too difficult.

Top tips:
Take dressing gowns to keep them warm while you dress yourself
Have easy to eat snacks to give them while you dress.

I had normal float rings, and then moved onto floatations waistcoats.
Be prepared to be frozen by the time you are dressed!

idontlikealdi · 15/08/2016 22:25

How old are they? If you're talking tiny babies takes the car seats, change them and put in seats so they have somewhere to go while you get changed. If they're a bit bigger take snacks so they can sit and eat a snack after they're dressed while you get dressed.

We never had a twin float just had one each as pool ratios here are all 1:1.

I have 4mo twins and taking them to Center Parcs to place marking for tips.

How old are your twins op?

twinmom90 · 16/08/2016 06:54

My twins are 5 months old. The swim jackets are a good idea actually if they do them for this age

I think I'll be getting two of these www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+baby-swim-float-in-childrens-swim-and-beachwear+a5540

Twin mom, look at the swimsuit (like a swimming costume) with floats round the middle.we used this with DS and he is really confident in the water. We intend to get our twins swimsuits too. I'll try and find a link.

It took him a while to fully balance, but when he did he was off. As he gets heavier he has to work harder to float. Now he has to constantly swim in the water. An hours swim wears him out!
