Sorry Mars, CAN'T HEAR YOU HONEY, dance with me babe, push pineapples.........

rosmerrin · 01/02/2007 17:48

Well, our work here is done ladies - it sounds like she is having a fabulous time!

On to the next mission - preschool committee meeting. Do you think they will play Agadoo? No, I think not - party poopers.

MarsLady · 01/02/2007 18:06

"La la la la la la laaaaaaaaaaa macarena................."

Harrogatemum · 01/02/2007 19:35

Happy Birthday FG!!! How many candles on your cake this year!?

If it was me sweetheart, i would definitely be opening some champers, DH would expect it of me! Dont be messing about with dregs of other stuff, you are worth the champers so just open it! And if you arent going to drink the whole bottle......then put a teaspoon in the top and the bubbles will stay fine for tomorrow.

DH will be home at 8 and I too have champers on ice as its his first nights drinking for a month, he gave up booze for January.

Gotta go ladies, it sounds like bedlam is breaking out upstairs.......

dingdongjustforyoufg · 01/02/2007 20:12

happy birthday frumpy! get the bubbly open you know its the right thing to do & if you're worried about drinking it all we'll help you out

hello everyone else, will try to catch up tonight - fab website mars! HM tell DH to get his priorities straight, there's more to life than work & money (a conclusion DH and I have only recently come!)

DTs have been 'going their ends' this week to use a nice geordie phrase but they're happy today as my mum is here for a couple of nights so they are putting on a good show for her. We're off shoe shopping tomorrow, our last visit chez clarks ended with me removing DT2 kicking and screaming from the shop, so am really looking forward to it

frumpygrumpy · 01/02/2007 21:13

rosmerrin, I was more ignoring Mars than immersing myself in Agadoo I am in denial about MN friends having real bodies and voices.....meetups schmeet ups.

My dad popped in.......with a mini bottle of Moet he even helped out with the mini frumps bath. Wonderful! Then my brother popped in with books, perfume, flowers and chocolates. Makes up for the 4 dirty nappies and whack on the head i had to deal with through the day .

The fish fingers are about to go in the oven as I make the packed lunch and the champagne is open. Not a bad day at all.

HM, I'm 19 today. At last!!

frumpygrumpy · 01/02/2007 21:17

Hi dingdong! Shoe shopping is hated here too. The queues, the queues, the "oh we'll try a wider fit, no we'll try the longer fit, no we don't do the nice one in any size you might want, we only have the ugliest shoe for you, but you can order and come back in a week to see if it fits" Good luck my darling. Very early or tea time seems the best times.

frumpygrumpy · 01/02/2007 21:21

you can't miss this

My pants need wrung out.

Overrun · 01/02/2007 21:40

Penblydd hapus FG
Hope you have a good one, I've seen that other thread, pmsl doesn't even start to cover it.
I've skimmed this thread, so sorry if I miss any one out.
Mars, I am going to look at your website as soon as I finish here.
HM - sorry hear about the ominous bumps. we found dt1 sleeping under dt2's bed last night, which was quite sweet, esp as he would have had to drag himself there like a slug
Leo - Hello there, you are bound to be getting tired now, can't remember how pregnant you are, but seem to recall you are on the home straight.

frumpygrumpy · 01/02/2007 21:51

Thank you my darling, I am a welsh virgin and you have just been my first . I am honoured!

How sweet to find him there, I would have melted into tears. Just as well you have the body bags

Overrun · 01/02/2007 21:52

I agree with every one else Mars, its a really cool website. You look so calm and capable in those photos. I have to say, fwiw, that I really hated that book you recommend "What to expect when you are expecting", it scared me absalutely rigid, and its American "you musn't do this, you mustn't eat that stance was quite intimidating".
Any way thats just ho, hope you don't mind me volunteering it

Overrun · 01/02/2007 21:52

meant to say My honest opinion

rosmerrin · 01/02/2007 22:42

Chez Clarks - they have been having a great time with us this week - each DS needed new shoes this week, thats 3 x £26 for goodness sakes. This was partly my fault. Let me explain. DT1 definately needed new shoes so I took him in on Saturday. Asked, as you do, which ones can we choose from for his size and was directed to a shelf with about 12 different styles - only 3 of which they had in stock - the normal looking brown ones, the ugly bright red ones or the clumpy blue ones. Okay I say, lets try the brown ones. Once on DT1's feet I notice they have flashing lights - OMG (sorry if anyone else thinks these are great). Well DT1 has also noticed they flash and will not be parted from them. I dont need to tell you what happened as soon as we got home. DT2, whose shoes fit fine, had DT1 pinned on the carpet and stole that poor boy's shoes right off his feet and wore them for the rest of the evening - almost slept in them. So Sunday its back to CC for another pair for DT2. Needless to say, DS3 hasnt had his feet checked for several months as he usually is in his slippers or is in the buggy, he always removes shoes in the car or any chairs anyway. And yes, he needs new shoes too, and yes I was directed to a (different) shelf, and yes I didnt spot that I had picked the same shoes again until they started flashing.

So - I have three boys running around with flashing feet. Clarks assistant happily told me that yes the batteries should last for at least a couple of months. I was hoping for a couple of weeks.

However, it was worth it to see the DTs faces when they came home from preschool to see DS3 in "their" shoes.

Frumpy - what did you have for dinner after all that?

frumpygrumpy · 01/02/2007 23:00

PMSL rosmerrin. This is life with DTs isn't it. There is nothing, but nothing you can do to change it. I'm glad your house is my house. My fish fingers have only just been popped in the oven . Its been a night. DD1 has, I think, thrush which is driving her insane. the DTs have runny bottoms. Its been a week.....we've been to the docs.....I've had a flat tyre........DP has been away 5 days this week......we've had playdates......the list is endless.

I should be glad. I could be a fish finger.

frumpygrumpy · 01/02/2007 23:01

DT2 has flashing shoes. His 3rd pair. He loved the first, adored the second, hardly notices the third.......

rosmerrin · 01/02/2007 23:24

Good night FG and I hope you had a great birthday!

PMSL re. the min min thread - I have often thought that there really is no dignity in having children - it starts with the peeing on a stick and goes downhill from there really. Before you know where you are you are you are up to you elbows in everyone elses bodily fluids and eating fish fingers at midnight! Welcome to our world!

Kelly1978 · 02/02/2007 09:28

I AM a real person!! Look at my profile, and mars is a real person, yuou can see her on the website.

Went out for a lovely meal last night, in a very posh restaurant, wearing the shoes that I had lusted after for months and months but wasn't prepared to pay £90 for but finally got reduced to half price and were delivered jsut in time! I'm a happy bunny. It was actually the first time I've ever been to an Indian restaurant in this country, and it was sooo yummy. I did feel guilty when I thought of fg eating her fishfinger, but hey she isn't a real person anyway...

I'm lovng this mild weather too, been to the park after school for the last two days, which we hadn't done for months. Seems like I'm the only one doing it too, so it means I get to run around and go on all the rides too.

Kelly1978 · 02/02/2007 09:30

oh and the dts have flashing shoes, bought for them by relatives. Very annoying when dt2 walked in poo and I'm trying to clean it off while using as little water as possible. The novely wore off very quickly, only a few days.

frumpygrumpy · 02/02/2007 10:04

I had too little sleep (all 3 up at different times, bum) and drank the champagne too late in the evening. Have tired eyes and a sore head. Walked home from school instead of swimming today and will walk back down there as I left the car.

If we just all stay happy little disembodied clicks on the keyboard then we none of us will ever need to become real! Whats in a meet up anyway......we'd probably all sit down and fall asleep within 7 minutes

Kelly, you slinky girl! Posh shoes! Glad for you and hope you had a lovely time.

frumpygrumpy · 02/02/2007 10:06

cooooeee Kelleeee

Kelly1978 · 02/02/2007 13:21

My baby is a maniac! He really hasn't learnt his lesson at all. Took them to the library today, he went up to a window, and started to open it. It would have been another 10 ft drop. I'm debating whether to complain to the library actually, it's stupid that they have windows at child height with no locks on.

dt1 loved the library, found books on all his favourite things, "Cars!....Monkers!.....Buggers!"

(he has trouble with words ending in 'y' )

thanks for the link fg.

rosmerrin · 02/02/2007 14:33

LOL Kelly! How loud did he say buggers?

rosmerrin · 02/02/2007 14:36

A couple of days ago DTs were in a bike shop and trying out the bikes and DT2 was shouting "I need a pish, I need a pish" luckily I was on hand to translate and say "Do you need a push?" - the gentleman next to me thought it was really funny!

1becomes3 · 02/02/2007 14:39

Hello ladies hope you are all well.

It's that time again I need to pick your brains, and yes it is that problem that people are always pestering you with............BUGGIES

Sorry to do this but I am in a real pickle, I can't find a tamdem buggies suitable for 2 new borns.
Does one actually exist?

A side by side buggy is not really an option as With the buggy pod attached to the side will make it very dificult to get through door's and shops, and I need the pod as I have a rather hyperactive DD. (needs to be strapped in IYKWIM )

All the tandems seem to have only the back seat suitable from birth, I could use one for the first 6 months but that means that I will also have to carry one DT in a sling everytime we go out. Well I just can't see pushing a buggy with a sling on with a hyperactive DD on reins working.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appericiated!

rosmerrin · 02/02/2007 14:53

Hi 1becomes3. My DTs are now 3.5 but we used the Mamas & Papas duette travel system. I don't think they make it any more but you should be able to find them second hand on ebay etc. We sold ours on ebay about 6 months ago for £225 plus £40 postage. It is a double chassis (one seat in front of the other like a train) and you can clip on 2 car seats or 2 pushchair/pram units, or any combination of 2 seats, either facing forward, backward, in towards each other or back to back! We found it worked really well for us. If you need more info I still have the pictures I used for ebay and could email them to you so you can see what I mean if you cant find anything.

Hope that is of some use.
