What do i need to know?

i had it confirmed today that i am expecting twins, what do i need to know? any good books to read on natural birth and gentle parenting of twins?

Congratulations. Mothering Multiples by Gromada is a really good book. Do you know what types of twins you are having?

My dcda girls will be 3 in September.

Right now don't even think about the birth. You'll have a lot more scans and there will come a point when you will be told what kind of birth is available to you-around 32 weeks if the lower twin is beach you are unlikely to be able to have a natural birth and there is very little chance they will change position. The main thing I focused on at this point was how I would manage at work as I has a physical job. My midwife said I would be unlikely to be able to work in my usual role past 28 weeks due to h commut and the fact I was normally on my feet all day. In the end I cut back my role to be desk based from around 24 weeks as I had bad SPD. Knowing I would finish work earlier than if a singleton allowed me to talk to my boss about changing my working practises early and removing any risks.
Congratulations-it has been a tough 11 weeks so far with my two but I love it and wouldn't change it for the world

I second reading Mothering Multiples. It's a really calming and reassuring read.

There's not much good info out there about twin pregnancies IMO.

Best advice I'd give is to rest as much as you can whenever you can. Your aim is to fatten those babies up and to keep them in as long as possible!

It's harder than a singleton pregnancy so factor that in and don't be afraid to say no or stop working as soon as you don't feel up to it.
towards the end it will feel never ending but the longer you can keep them in the less chance of nicu!
Everybody you meet will only tell you the negatives and how hard it's going to be
it is hard but you cope, you figure ways to make it work, double first smiles is amazing and looking at two gorgeous babies and knowing you made them is the most amazing feeling ever
13 weeks as a twin mammy and it's flying by!
