Identical twins not so identical?

My twins are now 6months old. After birth the hospital took the placenta away to be checked and confirmed a couple of weeks later that the girls shared 1 placenta (not 2 fused) and so are ID.

Fast forward to today.... Now their hair is growing through nicely, my DH noticed that one has a double crown like her older brother, but the other twin does not. Does this mean that they are not actually ID?

It's now playing on my mind and we would like to get their DNA tested so we know for sure. Has anyone used and can recommend a DNA test company who could do this?

Hair growth patterns are environmental...and not genetic. This means that they are formed within the womb....and positioning within the womb affects hair growth; identical twins have different fingerprints, growth patterns and hair whorls....

And belly buttons :)

The hair and eye colour will give you more of an indication. My ID twins have crowns that go in opposite directions although the hair at the front grows in the same direction. I did get mine genetically tested (separate placentas so wasn't sure if they were MZ or DZ). This was a few years ago but the multiple birth foundation arranged the testing through kings college in London (where they do twin research). It was a set of cheek swabs for each twin, no blood. Cost £80 at the time.
