Twin Parties (4yo)

Hi

I've always kept individuality in mind, but sometimes things just "blend" My DTs are b/g so I think that makes things more black and white.

So, we're clearly going to have one party (two would be bonkers right?) DTs are at the same pre-school and so the classmates are the same.

Do I do invites from both DTs or two per invitee? Or split the class into two and they get an invite from DD or DS?

I'll have two cakes. Do we sign Happy Birthday twice?

It's a minefield! Any other advice for me. It's not helped by the fact that I hate this kind of thing

Waves, i'm a twin. I thought I might help out by explaining what I preferred as a child.

Yes just one party, two parties is bonkers, and more expensive, wait until the children are much older.

I would do one invite per invitee, with both twins names on that one invite. When they get to school I would let them pick a few friends each and then do separate invites, as they often have separate friends by then.

Have 2 cakes, me and my twin loved having a cake that we picked, rather than compromising and having a joint cake.

Singing happy birthday once is fine, let each twin blow out the candles on their cake and I doubt they'll even notice the singing :)

Ah it was no bother, it's just nice to help out a twin parent. Makes me realise how stressful having twins must have been :D There's so many things to consider.

I have b/g twins.
For their 4th birthday, we had a joint party. The invitation came from both DD and DS, but I hand-wrote a note on the back about presents as I didn't want each parent to feel they had to buy two presents.
On half I wrote: "a gift is not expected, but if you would like to buy one, then please buy for [DD]" On the other half I wrote: "a gift is not expected, but if you would like to buy one, then please buy for [DS]"
They had a small cake each.

For 6th birthday and 8th birthday, we still did a joint party but by then they were in separate classes and had different friends, so we just told them to invite 10 friends each.

Those are the only parties they've had so far. This year (11) they have opted not to have a party and have a short break at a theme park /water park instead.
