Baby with 19 month olds--how is it??

There's a possibility I might be pregnant. We did want another child eventually, but this is a total accident and I'm slightly freaking out because I don't know how I would manage with a little baby and two 19 month olds! Those of you who are in this situation, what is/was life like for you in the early years? Did your twins rise to the challenge of being older siblings, or did it all go pear-shaped with jealous acting out and pleas for attention? The prospect of three under two terrifies me...

Also, as our girls are fraternal, if I am pregnant there's the chance it could be twins again... apparently my great grandmother had two sets. Confused Am I doomed? Someone please tell me it will be okay!

I've had this, but the other way round, my dd1 was 22 months when dt were born. Dt are now 4 months old. Honestly, its great! I'm constantly surprised at how dd1 is with dt - completely nonchalant when she met them - I was expecting jealousy/stress, and totally loves them now (although she gets their names mixed up all the time).

I met one parent who said that a singleton after twins felt hard for him because you become so much more efficient with two. You spend the same energy looking after just one, I guess he found that frustrating.

You need a lot of energy and a lot of patience, but then with twins we need that anyway!

You're not doomed, you're very lucky. Hope you get your bfp if that's what you want :)

I am expecting the other way around too...ds will be 16 months when dt's arrive in Oct. Also slightly freaking at having 3 under 2 but sure we'll rise to the challenge and looking forward to having a close age gap, think it will be great in a couple of years time Smile

Another here with it the other way round, our youngest will be only 18 months when twins arrive. It was a shock at first but getting my head round it now, it's pretty exciting! X

I'm not in your shoes but it was around when DTs were 17 months that I began to think I could cope if I added a baby into the mix. If we could conceive naturally I'm fairly sure number 3 would be here or nearly here by now.

May the force by with you! Especially if it's 3 and 4 Smile.
