Big decision

We have been lucky enough to have two dc via ivf, ds5 and dd2. We want to have another and will be having two of four embryos transferred tomorrow. We have no money to freeze or do frozen embryo transfers in the future as we have rung every penny out to have our children, hence trying to maximise our chances. There is obviously a high risk of twins and wondered if anyone else has had dt after two and how did you cope?

Hi, I'm not sure that anyone can help you make this decision but you and your dp. If it helps, this is what happened to me (but only 1 older dc, not 2 like you.

We did our second round of ivf last summer to try and get dc2 (dd1 was also ivf). The day when we put back the embyos, I had 2 blastos available which have a higher chance of success. At that very moment, I thought "I'd rather have two than none" and we put them both back. They both took, and I won't say it wasn't a shock, even though I knew the risks. They were both born at the end of March, and I have to say it is brilliant. Dd1 loves them, I can't imagine life without them. It is hard work, but what child isn't? Especially newborns.

FYI dd1 was 22 months when dts were born, we live in a 2 bed flat. You make things work :)

We had 3 under 4 for a while (natural conceptions) and both worked full time and later twins. It is not hard. Go for it.

Thank you for the kind words, I think we just have to risk it, I would never regret having too many children:)
