My dad goes to my mum's x3 a year, like clockwork, at the same time, and always with the same type of flower. Ivan hasn't been since the funeral and I went when I could. We all have ways of dealing these horrible days of grief and sorrow. My mum's birthday is coming up on 30th July she would have been 44.

Decided I'm gunna sort through the DC's clothes today. See what can be used as hand me downs and what needs donating/chucking. I'm gunna see if I can find K's leather jacket as the twins should be big enough to wear it now but I don't know what I did with it when we moved...

Good morning, after little sleep, getting up early to get the kids up for school they say they arent going! I know there is a strike today but I was told that it wont affect the 6th form! Its up to them. Its dark, grey and very windy, so its a day of catching up and cleaning up, whilst they stay in bed no doubt. Dk will bugger off to the allotment. I can finish sorting the packing for next week, can`t believe how much stuff there is to take. I am trying to save us some money so have even packed boxes of cereals, I really begrudge paying over the top prices for them out there. I was told that luggage labels are not used now, they bar code the bags at check in, but what if you get an identical bag to your on the carousel? Going to buy some anyway! Shabs my mum and dad are buried directly in front of Matthew, its so hard standing there looking at their names :(

Just had a lovely skype session with my dad and half way through I saw a little boy walk up to my dad and climb onto his lap holding a stuffed Lion. The cutest thing I have ever seen and the first time seeing my soon-to-be little brother! He's so shy and quiet, and tiny! Apparently, dad has been keeping him a secret and has been having overnight visits on and off for the past 2 weeks :) He's gunna call the SW today and ask when we can be introduced so Ivan and I can fly over for a week.

MultipleMama · 10/07/2014 17:05

Flights booked for 22nd! K & BlueA will be coming with me and Ivan will arrive in UK on 22nd too :) Until then we're allowed to skype/call him when he has visits with dad as it'll help prepare him to meet us. SW is pleased we are supportive and willing to fly over to make the process easier. Dad has him overnight on Saturday so I cannot wait to try and talk to him :)

He sounds a lovely little lad Mamma.....you are lucky being able to take BlueA on a flight with you.

When my twins were about 6 months old my parents took us on holiday down to Cornwall. I checked with my GP before we went that Gareth was as well as he could be. When I said we were going on holiday the GP looked shocked because he thought we were going to be flying. He said under no circumstances could G go on a flight even a short one.

Mind you, times change and the world of medical knowledge progresses I suppose. x

MultipleMama · 10/07/2014 20:03

I've booked the tickets but not paid for them yet as BlueA needs to have a fit-to-fly test done, which I called and arranged for Monday with his heart & lung docs. If he passes, the we can fly. I called the airline and informed them of the situation and they were happy to reserve the seats and make necessary arrangements if needed. If worse case scenario, I'll drive down.

Hopefully, he pass. If they can transfer him from London to Berlin when he was very ill then I'm sure (hopefully) he can travel on his dinky o2. Fingers crossed anyway!

Managed to sleep some last night so I think the weird tea is working, still very tired though, DH says I'm deathly pale so hoping the iron tea kicks in soon!

Busy day today, appointments and food shopping to do! I hate food shopping...

OP posts:
triplets · 11/07/2014 06:42

Morning.........I could do with some of that tea Mama, was still wide eyed at 1am and wide awake at 5.30am...........going to be another lonnnng day! Have so much to do, got sil and bil coming tomorrow for the w/end, so I am sleeping out in my shed so they can have my bedroom which is chaotic as I am trying to pack for our holiday next Tues! We are all going to the big concert on the beach on Sun, the Royal Marines are coming from Portsmouth and my James will be playing with the ATC band also. The weather forecast is for thundery showers which is not what we need! I am broke and have no food in the house, they were going to arrive for lunch tomorrow but I had told a white lie and put them off until 2pm saving me doing lunch for them Blush. I have got to do a posh picnic for Sunday, we need to bag our space before 11am an it won`t finish until about 5.30pm, no idea what to do, any nice but easy ideas girls? I am hoping they will be going home after the concert and not wanting to stay for dinner as we want to watch the cup final and they hate football! I will be worn out before we go, our flight is from Gatwick at 8am, so need to be leaving here at 3am Tues morning! I keep telling myself it will be worth it...............Hmm

Chopstheduck · 11/07/2014 07:12

Trips, drop lots of comments about the final and hopefully they will bugger orf! I can't stand football neither, so I'd soon take the hint! WinkGrin

We do this picnic thing for holidays - take a pack of puff pastry, roll out, cut into squares, spread with pesto and top with slices of tomato and grated cheese then bake. Cheap and quick, and the kids love them. Roll up wraps with stuff like ham and philly in them, and then cut into pinwheels. Fruit kebabs? Look posh but minimal effort.

Good luck to James. I'm hoping for better weather Sunday too - it's my triathlon! I've lost 5lbs in training for it! Grin I might actually hit my original goal weight this year!

Wow, great stuff, mama! It's all happening so fast! Shock BTW, that vid you wanted to see is on you tube now

Bubby, fingers crossed for the holiday!

Chopstheduck · 11/07/2014 07:13

You should be able to the herbal tea in UK, it's nettle tea (mine is nettle, rose and cinnamon). Kinda nasty but it does work, never used it to boost my iron levels though so I'm curious! You could also use stinging nettle and boil it, and drink the juices if you don't wanna pay for herbal tea! Works just as well Grin

Hmmm, you could make a greek salad with some feta and halloumi, maybe some toasted crackers with cream chesse and a thin slice of smoked meat, some refreshing light sandwiches like cucumber and salmon paste with the edges cut off and into triangles, sausages, pineapple and a cheese block on those cocktail sticks and maybe chocolate fruit dipped chocolate for dessert. Kinda posh and pretty easy.... I'm hungry now!

Looking good, Chops! Were you nervous? I would have been bricking myself! Grin

I forgot the pinwheels & fruit kebabs! They're really good ideas.

It's happening very fast, everything is a whirlwind and hectic but like Trips is telling herself, ... it's worth it Grin.

Trips, you could just not pack and wear all the clothes your taking to the airport! Grin

I just heard something break... and it begins.

I was shitting myself and wanted to run away very fast! Grin

It was a great experience though, and Mel was lovely.

Rubes, d'y remember all that time ago and I was 4 stone overweight and you telling me I COULD run! And I thought, if Ruby says I can run, I must be able to, and you were right! And how things have changed Grin

I get self-conscious when I run. DH once told me I ran like a cow - literally. And it wasn't until I aaw a scared cow running in a field did I realise Blush So good on you, Chops! :) You should be well chuffed with yourself! :)

So Angry at DH. He called and gave me a lecture on my inablity to "give a flying f*@k about anybody but myself" and I am not putting BlueA's needs first and that I'm gunna halt his progress to "calavant off" to another country and that I'm barely able to look after myself nevermind a "sick kid" then proceeded to tell me in no uncertain terms that even if BlueA is fit to travel, he's not going anywhere. Angry Que rage. I'm so bloody mad! How pissing dare he? He's not the one with a baby strapped to his chest almost 24 hours a day because the minute you put him down he screams and worse he can't self soothe. He's not the one who has to struggle every goddamn day to try and get him to take a handful of medication or risk him becoming ill. He's not there when BlueA stresses and cries during intensive therapy lessons. Who else is gunna look after him if I go?! DH works and my PiL have already told me they're scared to look after him because they don't understand him. And I'm going. My dad has always been there for me, always, and now he needs me because he's so in love with boy he's scared to loose him and if my dad asks me to visit because this is important to him, then I'm going and DH can go bloody well stuff his demands where the sun don't shine! I have to take BlueA because there is no-one else to take him and he won't go with anyone else anyway and DH can't take time off work. Yeah, I'm pregnant but I'm not a bloody invalid. Angry

Wow didn't mean to rant but I'm so Angry. I don't want to argue with him but why couldn't he have told me this, calmly, yesterday when I told him I was going to reserve flights for the 3 of us. I understand his worries but I don't know what to do to resolve this. I always put my kids first and it really hurts that he said that so viciously... :(

I love him, too, so so much. He won't talk to me. He wants to calm down and doesn't want to say something he might regret so he's sleeping at his brother's tonight. I'm just a crying mess, and so fed up of the drama. Going to drink my tea and try and sleep.

Golly gosh Mama that was quite a rant............listen carefully to ruby she is very wise, I have met her:) Who will be looking after the other children if you go? I understand fully you wanting to go to support your darling dad but with BlueA being prone to infection etc and you being so very tired does it really make sense? Do think carefully, your lovely Dad would totally understand. You must look after yourself or who will look after BlueA and the rest of the team?

I will say no more!

I have worked my socks off today, changing beds/cleaning house/baking etc. In laws arriving at 2pm tomorrow until Sun night.............help! Really need good weather for Sundays concert you might see it on the new as the tv companies are filming. Cant believe we are off on Tues, 7 years since weve had a proper holiday, it actually feels weird! Need to sleep so lights off........................night all xx
