Twin sledges?!

I am trying to plan in advance in case there's lots of snow coming! I have a 4yr old dd in reception and twins who will be 2 next month. The buggy is getting heavier and I am thinking will be pretty impossible to push through heavy snow. The school run is about 10 mins walk either way - so not far. I am thinking tho it would be easier in the snow to put dd and heaviest twin on a sledge on the way to school and carry DTD on my back and then pop them both on a sledge on the way back. There are quite a few sledges on amazon - I like the look of the Duo sledge but it is about £50. Worth it if t saves my sanity and there is lots of snow but a thorough waste of money I don't have if it isn't any good and/or doesn't snow a lot! Any anecdotes to share/brands of sledge to recommend? Thanks :)

Gosh, that sounds like a lot of hard work.
Unless they are tall for their age your Dts will probably fit in to a large sledge.

Might be easier if your older dd walks, or goes in the sledge with them.
I know that's not what you asked but I got worn out dragging my 2 in a sledge in the snow and that was without another child on my back.

What pushchair have you got ? My city jogger mini was fine in heavyish snow.
Sorry to put a downer on your idea, I suppose if you have to do it you just have to do it, but it does sound like bloody hard work.

I've got a Bugaboo Donkey, it was hard work last year through the snow when they were a lot lighter, and there was a day we couldn't get to the end of the road. I think they would just jump off a 'normal' large sled which is why I was looking at the Duo as it had two back rests and I thought I could always attach them to the of necessary!
However, you have made me rethink, and I'm going to wait and see for now. Here's hoping we don't get lots of snow! (Supposed to be a brrrr face but not sure what it is?!)
