Eleven plus results, twins & only one pass!

Has anyone been in this situation? How did they do at seperate schools? I think is the right result as they are both different academically & personality. I just worry how they will do without each other for secondary school.

One of my best friends is an identical twin- she passed the 11 plus and went to the grammar school, her sister didn't and went to the local comp (also a good school and where their older brother went). They are still amazingly close, they had separate school friends but were also part of a larger joint group of friends and it doesn't seem to have done them any harm at all :)

Also, I'm an identical twin too (when both our sisters came to visit when my friend and I lived together we had some amazing mirror-image nights out!) and although we went to the same comprehensive we were in different forms in different houses so never had any lessons together or anything and despite having spent all of junior school in the same class we were absolutely fine, made friends (some joint, most separate) and really enjoyed it, we wouldn't have changed it.

Much for your reply. That really does help. The schools are only a five minute walk apart so they can commute together.

Same thing happened to a friend's twin boys. One went to the Grammar and the other to a Comp. Both have done equally as well in GCSEs and are now both in the Grammar's 6th Form.

A set of twins in DD's class ended up in this situation. It turned out fine with the kids at different schools. Don't fret, it will all work out OK. Try to see the positives - double the number of friends for a start, and at least the schools aren't miles apart!

My DM 80 is a twin she passed the 11 plus,her twin didn't.
She wasn't allowed to go to grammar school as he was a boy and therefore more important
DM has Alzheimers now and doesn't remember much but regularly brings the injustice of that up!

My one that did pass doesn't want a big deal made because he feels bad for his brother. My one that didn't is feeling a bit bad. I think, like you've all said, it will turn out alright in the end.
