Which bf pillow for twins?

I bf DD (now 2.9) for two years so I am more experienced than some, but in the early days I def needed two hands to latch her on. I assume bf pillow (I never used one with DD) would help with matching no 2? I'd like to establish tandem feeding ASAP as, what with DD and the fact that I doubt I'll express at all (didn't at all with DD - not only did it seem a HUGE hassle but she was also a total (and U mean total, even HV had no luck) bottle refuser), I'll not have hours and hours to just feed!

Feeling fairly confident re bf given that I know I have good supply, but please please tell me which to buy!!!

Feeding my two at the moment with a My Brest Friend twin pillow and v happy with it, particularly the back support.

Looks like they're on Amazon but luckily I got it for £10 second hand off another local twin mum through our twin club Facebook group (cover is fully washable at high temps).

I have the Twin Z pillow, it's great. I used it for BF, tummy time and support to help them sit. I love it.

I've got the EZ 2 Nurse, got second hand and it's great. The back support part fits into the main cushion so I often slide it off me and leave them to sleep on it as my twins wake as soon as I attempt to move them. The cover washes well and dries quickly which is handy.

Also, is a Harmony Duo the same as any of the above? I can get that from JoJoMaman who give a 20% discount to Tamba members....

I have the my Brest Friend pillow. I find it useful that it pulls apart (the back support clips off which is useful to reposition it easier in bed).

I had Brest friend too. It was great. I bought it off amazon us as it was cheaper even ith delivery charge

I was given mine at my baby shower. Had no idea it wasn't available in the UK.

I had the harmony duo, it was fine, quite firm and slopes inwards a bitso they don't roll off. Did need help getting them on and off the cushion initially. The really tricky thing is winding them both afterwards!

If you are confident and know you have a good supply don't let the hospital push you into "topping up". 3 hourly regime of bf then bottle - nearly killed me!

Until you get the hang of tandem feeding, if you can't be doing with pumping, don't be afraid of the odd bit of formula if that helps you get some rest and stay sane. The first few weeks are really tough going so look after yourself.

I am surprised there aren't more options available given the number of twins there are. I guess bf twins is the exception, not the rule .

Thanks for the encouragement Random - am feeling fairly positive, except I am sure I leaked colostrum by now with DD and no sign this time.... Still, must have faith my boobs can do the job. I def feel ok about latching and feeding cues and generally feeding all the time...

You might not get as leaky this time round, I didn't and my boobs didn't get ginormous the way they had with DD. Don't doubt yourself, you'll do it, you'll be fine.

I had a My Brest Friend too from another twin mum...have you explored local twin groups yet? Parents of multiples are often very eager to get rid of all their crap useful stuff to new parents!

Thanks Red - trying to have faith (I do really!)... Also I've noticed that my boobs are much smaller than this time in DD's pregnancy. I'm in my bras (normal ones, not nursing ones) that I was in for the last six months or so of bf DD (I stopped when she was 2 and a bit years - she still had a couple of feeds every 24 hours when I was in these bras).... Strange!!!

It's definitely different second time round, have faith. Mine look like sad little balloons that have lost all their air, but they still seem to feed two giant 16month old twin boys! Actually, on second thoughts, not sure that image is necessarily reassuring...

My twins are my 3rd & 4th babies (6 months old now), I also BF DS1 and 2 for nearly year each. Did bog standard mothercare pillow to feed them. I bought a special twins feeding contraption (bit like soft play extra) to do tandem, think was harmony duo. Really good, as in life saving good for a while when the twins were tiny, but I've ended up going back to old school mothercare L-shaped pillow once girls can hold their heads a bit as harmony duo's a bit bulky and the boys wanted to take it to roll around & wrestle with.

It's not the feeding twins that's tough, it is the winding, settling and shushing when they are tiny. no amount of brilliant pillow is going to help with that bit - just time & it will get easier.

DS1 and 2 were UTTER rejecters of bottle. Interestingly twin 2 was too, for a while, I let her just do boob for a couple of months and then suddenly she has gone back to one bottle a day, liquid formula only.

Babies are funny creatures. But do treat yourself to a decent pillow as it will make your life easier for a bit, but then your 2 yr old will enjoy a roll around the floor with it!!!

I've been pondering this too - fed my DD1 until she was 14 m.o. but DDs 2 and 3 due in 11 days (CS as T1 is breech) and I am really not sure whether a pillow is worth the money and space it takes up or not

It is worth the money. Especially if you've got a c-section scar as feeding twins is quite physical - anything to help you be more comfortable is a godsend. I ended up using mine until the boys were a year old as they still are quite small...still can't quite bear to part with it yet otherwise I'd offer it out!

Red, thanks for the encouragement. I'm booked in for a c section at 37+3, so hoping that the c section won't delay my milk coming in too much and that they'll have good sucks on them then. My milk took 5 days to come in with DD and she didn't drop below birth weight at all, but she came at 42 weeks! Really ho

Sorry! Hoping I'm not put under pressure to "top up" if they drop weight a bit... It's pretty much the opposite to how to build up supply!

Don't be pressured to do anything you're not happy with. One of my boys lost 10.1% of his birth weight and they started getting a bit weird, I just ignored them as that's totally normal and I knew he'd be alright. And he was. He's a bloody porker now!

And the fact you are so well informed is fantastic and will help enormously. Don't worry yourself too much. xxxx

Ditto. DTS lost almost 10%, but I just kept on feeding (once his TT was sorted) and he totally got the nag of it. Took him a month to regain his birth weight but luckily I had one useful MW who had EBF twins herself and she was v reassuring and relaxed.
