A perfect twin present for newborns and their mum?

I am looking to get a friend present for their twins, sex unknown to me, I was thinking about a baby carrier (like the baby bjorn but for two) worry that this might only be useful for a short time (3/4 months at a guess?)
Can all mums of twins tell me what their perfect present to help me choose?

I used a moby wrap myself but I don't think I'd buy one as its a personal preference and something you'd want to try yourself.

Honestly, we got loads of blankets and coats and suits and things because people were trying to be practical. I ended up using the everyday things and trying to mind handmade things. Because we didn't get out much, the handmade thoughtful things never got used.

I still think you should get the wagon!

after carrying twins for nearly 9 months, no way did I want to carry them after the birth! I like the car seat blanket idea, but I do have to second that food would have been my number one choice! I was really luck that a church where I attended playgroup arranged a rota of meal deliveries for the first 10 days - it was amazing, and totally unexpected.

I'd look for gift vouchers for a gourmet ready meal service.

I think things that are special like blankets to keep, I really wanted to choose myself.

tbh, thinking of the meal service still makes me feel slightly emotional - all of those ladies that took time to cook, and deliver hot food each day. The blankets and teddy bears have long gone!

don't think the baby carrier would be used that much......as many ladies have already said, the most simple things are really cherished and appreciated! Some friends of ours also came around every other day for a few weeks with food and it was such a great help!

One of the nicest gifts we got were two multicoloured crocheted blankets. We put them over them in the car seats and still use them in the car 16months on! If you are a creative person and if your friend has the appreciation for gifts like this, it would be 'extra special' like you would hope it would be! Best gifts are not always the expensive ones!

Ewan the dream sheep is awesome! We have one and are going to buy another. Totally gets them over the transfer to cot rousing moments.

Food is brilliant - ready to eat meals plus also baking - small chocolate brownies or tray bake type cakes have been great - easy to freeze in small portions and easy to eat/grab when you are ravenous/delirious with lack of sleep!

Small clothes - everyone bought use newborn or 0-3 months and at 4 week sand 7 lbs they are still not really big enough for them. A few little cute outfits are nice to have.

Blankets have all been gratefully received but does depend on the time of year.

I do use a sling but only for one at a time, have a caboo close carrier which is stretchy but partially pre tie pd so easy to use.

Oh, my most used thing is a 650ml sports water bottle. Can knock it over/tuck it into bed and not worr about spills. It's never far from my hand as I get SOOO thirsty.

Time is the best present ever. I was so lucky to have a neighbour who would come and take the twins for a walk for an hour every week. It was an absolute godsend. I could have a shower or just lie on the sofa in the quiet.
