Just how do you keep them entertained?

How?!!! I feel guilty when I've got one plonked on the play mat while I play with the other but my day seems to be a mix of charging around trying to get jobs done like a deranged maniac, and playing the 'pick-me-up-and-put-me-down' game.
So, how do you do it? x

Not much in the way of helpful advice but maybe try not to worry about getting anything but the essential jobs done during the day?

HappyAsASandboy · 29/06/2012 18:23

You just keep juggling Smile

And don't do anything during the day if it's too hard to do. Your job at home is to keep you and your twins (or more?!) uninjured, fed and mostly clean - anything else is a bonus Grin

Keep going. Mine are 20 months now, and they play together beautifully. I still have to referee, obviously, but I can now have have a cup of tea get some jobs done while they play together :)

The fact you feel guilty probably means you are doing a great job, worry being the first sign of a good parent. There are a couple of games I have found I can do with both twins (10 mths). One is lying them or sitting them next to each other and covering them with a big sheet and lifting it up and down and also allowing us all to have a little tug-of-war with it. Another is having a couple of small balls and rolling them between the three of us. Meanwhile my house festers.

Thanks everyone. It is hard but hopefully they'll soon be at a stage where they can entertain each other a little. Thanks for the tips xx

How old are your twins? Mine are 7.5 months

My two started to notice each other about 12 weeks and now 'play' together ie kick each other and snatch toys, and roll around the living room floor.

I play with them together where possible by singing songs, playing peekaboo etc but only probably for up to an hour a day in total. I do go to a twin playgroup and a music group every week too and DH and I take them swimming on saturdays so they're not too deprived.

They also are luckily quite happy in their bouncy chairs for half an hour at a time, and now the weather is good I have started to put them in the garden on a travel rug while I hang out washing etc.

I find that "in the night garden" is a brilliant babysitter every day at 11am on occassions.

Oh and I do put one or other in a sling sometimes if I need to get something done and they need to be held.

Thanks ceeveebee. I agree - mine love the night garden (as do I!!)

I think I just worry that they seem to spend a lot of time in their bouncy chair or on the playmat but then I'm not sure what else there is?!! Like your two, they seem to entertain each other when they are facing each other in the bouncy chairs.
I hadn't even considered a sling - hops over to ebay to price one up...
Thanks for the tips. These two are 6 months x
