Hi, My Twins are now 5 and at Full time school.
But we moved to a new area just before I got preg with twins. I though I'd meet loads more mums if I had a second child but when it turned out to be two more not one more I then had to put my own needs to meet people on hold. And because I had a 3 year old already the last few years have been such a blur! Unfortunately I couldn't go to the local twins club.

What I'm looking for now is to make contact with some other twin-mums around. Lovely friends without twins don't really get what's it like and I'll love to chat to others who know what its like.

Hi there WILLOW,
Tried to PM you but did not let me so replied here.
Sorry for the late reply. Its a bit ironic, seeing as my nickname is TwinChatNow!
I live in Twickenham too, snap, but its a long time since my Twins were 7 months.
Yet is some ways it has just flown by.

How are you doing? Have you got much help locally or know any other mums nearby?
I'd love to hear all about how you are getting on and about your two boys, when you get a chance.

I found around six months or just after hard I think, beacause I had used up a lot of my reserves of energy in the first few months, and found there was more to get done during the day (weaning and milk too)
But how are yours sleeping? Think my started to sleep bit better round 8 months so nights were lot easier.

Look fwd to hearing back from you. If you are busy, no worry, you've got a better excuse than me than replying late!

Hi Lulabel27Thu,

It doesn't seem that long ago since I had just moved house and was preg with Twins and had one DD. How old is she?

I remember just looking at her thinking back to her birth and trying to imagine all the same stuff happening but with 2 babies!
It all seemed a bit surreal!

I got my old preg books out and noticed all the pictures just showed one baby, and looked up twins in the index but there was only one tiny section on twins in whole book!
How far are you and do you feel prepared mostly, or Not ?!

I was glad I had one baby before as I knew a lot of stuff already, but I was scared also thiinking back how much time one baby took to look after and wonderring how it would all work!
It must have worked because my twins are 5 now! and at FULL -TIME SCHOOL- still getting used to that! They are amazing and they have a 'double big sister' like your twins will have.

Have you got muuch help or suport for when they are born?
Love to hear back from you,
take care too.

Hi there
I know lots of twin mums in Richmond and Sheen, around 20, but all with twins less than 12 months old. We met through various places, mainly TAMBA course, NCT course, pilates, yoga, random meetings in the street! You're welcome to meet up with us -we meet for pub lunch every 2 weeks in Sheen and we have a weekly playgroup at the local childrens centre.

Perhaps a TAMBA course would be a useful place to meet other mums with older twins, I think they do courses on various aspects of parenting, not just babies.

One place that you mind find useful is the Twins Stay and Play group at Ham Clinic, which is I think every 4th Tuesday. Also I think there is a twin club in Twickenham, have you been there?

Hi ceeveebee thanks for your helpful reply.

I think I have missed the boat a little as my twins are now 5 and at full time school. The time flew by so fast!
I also had a three year old when they were born so for a long time found it hard to get out and meet other mums.

I did go to quite a lot of playgroups but as I had three little ones with me, I found again and again, that all I did start lots of good conversations but then simply be too busy tending my three to ever talk longer than 5 mins with anyone!

One playgroup I went to once I changed one nappy, took DD to toilet, then changed 2nd DT nappy then came out and realised it was almost time to leave ! And I saw my friend there, who did not realise I had come that day!!

My eldest started at a school nursery free place in the afternoon session when she was three, but unfortunately she came out at 3:15 every day. This meant I could not really mangage to go to my local twins club as they met 2 til 4.

I did try but mostly it was not worth getting there, unloading 2 bubs on to the floor to play then trying to leave 45 minutes later.

That is very kind of you to invite me to your regular meet-ups, I may take you up on it. I personally found it such a blur the last 5 years with my twins. I did not have any relatives to help, so it was pretty full on!

Its only now I have a bit of space to breathe, and I'm thinking I love talking about twinny-type stuff, meeting other twin mums so I started this thread!!
I did know one lovely twin mum, but later on she moved abroad, sadly.

Hi

I have non-id 7 mo girls. In Teddington. Happy to chat!

TwinChatNow · 21/06/2012 11:40

Hi Twingirlsrock, (great name!)

How are you doing? Is having twin babies what you expected it to be like? Or did you not really much idea what to expect?
Are your 2 girls, sleeping and feeding.weaning ok?

I think 7 months for me was quite a messy food stage, but all a bit hazy now because mine are 5 years old!

What do you get up to during the weeK? Have you been at all to the Twick Twins club? It is very good and lovely to be in a place where everyone is same as you and had twins. Unfortunately I could hardly ever go.

Hope your day is going well, and look forward to finding more out about your twins.
