Hi there,

I am 14 weeks pregnant with twins and feel so rough. All the books say I should be feeling better by now but I'm really not. I'm tired all the time, have headaches, nosebleeds and morning sickness. I just wanna feel better and enjoy my babies!

Hello
I must admit I never noticed a huge change at the much celebrated 12 week stage (I gave births to twins last August.) You might find it improves a bit in the next few weeks though. Have you had your iron levels checked lately? I was told most people carrying twins become anemic at some point and when I started the iron tablets it made a huge difference to me within a day. The side-effects were a bit annoying, but it was well worth it for the extra energy. My only other suggestion is to try and look after yourself as much as possible and enjoy having the time to do this for you and your babies. It is hard going being pregnant with twins in my experience, but you do recover - honest!

Thank you so much for the advice, I really do appreciate it. I'm seeing my midwife on Thursday so I will mention it to her. Touch wood, I've been feeling ok these past couple of days- though I'm not writing off the symptoms just yet!

I got better at about 16 weeks. Think it must be harder AND longer with twins. V good suggestion on the iron levels.

I feel your pain!!! I had twins in August 2011 and they were my first babies, good job because after the nausea I suffered I will never get pregnant again hehe!!! Everyone told me once I hit 12 weeks I would be fine, I was 5 months pregnant before I started to feel human again. The doctor signed me off work for 3 weeks as the nausea was so bad and I could hardly lift my head off the pillow, I couldn't eat anything either it was an absolute nightmare!! If I got hot the sickness got worse too, at work I had the window open and fan on when everyone else had cardi's on lol. The second half of my pregnancy was amazing though and on a lighter note just think of the end result......MAGIC!!

I was put on iron tablets and I would also recommend Sea Bands which you can get from any chemist, they worked really well for me and the sickness died down slightly after 5 minutes of wearing them.

Take care of yourself :)
