We're going on our first holiday with our 2 year old DD1 and 8 wk old twins in a couple of weeks, and are staying near Chipping Norton. Has anyone got any suggestions/recommendations for things to do that are child friendly? Thanks x

cotswold farm park is excellent

as is cotswold wildlife park

both are good and have very different animals and activities.

Bourton on the water is a very good afternoon. (think chocolate box beautiful village) there's quite a bit to do there. You could take wellies and go for a little paddle in the river there and feed any ducks that may be around.

and there's also birdland and the model village to name a few.

Hi Furball, thanks for the suggestions, just looked at the websites and they look great! We're only going for a few days, so these will definitely keep us occupied x

Westonbirt for the Christmas Spectacular - sorry can't link - but stunning illumination of the arboretum at dark - plus Father Christmas :-)

Def the time of year to go to Bourton - its lovely without the tourists, and the fish farm is fun.

My son loves the lemur walkthrough at the wildlife park, but the farm park does get really, really cold so be warned (tis great though)

Have a lovely time - I like Chippy

Burford lovely for a day out. The Garden Centre is the poshest I've ever encountered and has a children's cafe and adventure playground.

I would say westonbirt is a tad too far - it's about 40 miles away?

Theres also a steam railway from Toddington to Cheltenham Racecourse via Winchcombe. If it' s December, they do a Santa Express which is lovely, especially at dusk. You might need to book that though.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I'm sure we'll find plenty to keep DD1 occupied now!
