Hello all!

I went for a scan this morning and I am 8 weeks pregnant with TWINS! I suffered a moment of disbelief before immense excitement and joy.

I did fall pregnant sort of "accidentally" as I had stupidly assumed I wouldn't get pregnant as I haven't had a period since having my daughter (who is only just 5 months old!!) and am breast feeding.

How will I cope with a 1yr old and twins?! EEEEEEEEEEEEK!

I'm so excited but at the same time slightly panicky!!

I just wanted to share, and get any helpful tips you lovely lot may have! My DP looked astounded when we were told, lol. My Mum started to cry (in a good way I think!)

Hey! I'm just about 37 weeks and I'm being induced on Monday - all VERY real now.

My daughter is one in two weeks so we've been planning a little party to make a fuss of her too!

I can barely move but both the babies and I have been healthy enough so I'm very lucky. I hope you're well! You must be close too!

Congratulations! I remember that feeling well, our twins are 4 months old now and we have a 3yr 4mth old, birthdays three days apart!

Twins are amazing! But not really for the first eight weeks! Hee hee! After that they are incredible, so far!

wow snake - you probably have 3 under 1 now!!!!!! Twins are fantastic especially now they have just started full time school Wink

SnakeOnCrack · 10/11/2011 15:48

I do, I do! I had a little boy and a little girl. Arthur and Hermione were born on 1st Nov so are now just over a week old and are beautiful and amazing, if.. noisy!

And it's my older daughters 1st birthday tomorrow, we are having a little gathering for her on Saturday.

To say I'm tired might be an understatement! I could be playing a zombie in the Walking Dead with no need for makeup..

I haven't ventured out with them all yet, I'm enjoying being in our little nest! My husband is still off work for a bit yet and my sister is staying with us for a little bit from next week to help out which will be great.

I'm a milk machine at the moment but I'm sure it will get easier!

Hello everyone, I was just reading this thread and saw that other mums that ha twins also have little ones too.

My twins are now 2 weeks old :) and my daughters 1st bday is next week.

Any tips on coping?

NABA212 · 14/01/2012 20:35

Hi everyone,
nice to find this thread, I have a 16 months old son, and just found out I am expecting twins. I'm 13 weeks pregnant, and wondering how I will cope with 3 little ones when the twins arrive!
Good to hear lots of you in the same situation are coping, I'd love to hear more!

Hello, I have found out I am having twins in July and have a very active 2 yr old boy. Bit scared but more concerned about the logistics of childminding after. Do the mums of twins with other babies have a nanny or childminder?
How does it work with the nanny looking after two young babies and a toddler? My ds has been in nursery full time since 6 months and I am worried how it will affect him.
Any advice on this and how to find a nanny would be great.
Ps how huge do you get, cause i was pretty big last time with just eons (gulp)
Xx

Hello JanMorrow, how are you doing? Any updates? Hope all is well:)

JanMorrow · 11/04/2012 15:17

Hey! Sorry not been around of late and just noticed the request for an udate!

Well the twins are now 5 months. I'm not going to lie, the past few months have been hard.. but we've got into a routine and are chugging along. I'm constantly exhausted but I have been able to get a bit more sleep of late because our brood seem to be sleeping a bit better.

My other daughter is now 17 months and very energetic! I have been lucky that my Mum and sister live fairly nearby and are being very helpful with childcare and the like. So they'll have the twins for a few hours whilst I can concentrate on my older daughter or visa versa.. or just to give me a rest. My husband works but does all he can in the evenings/weekends etc.

Online shopping is a blessing and my husband is great. We take things in turns.

I am a bit concerned about when I return to work in a few months, but I think a mix of nursery and family help will see us through, we're very lucky in that regard as we could have been killed with nursery fees for three under three..

Hope all is well with everyone else who posted on this thread!

This thread title sums up my day! Scan this morning and I'm 12 weeks with twins aaagh! Shock I have a DS who is 2.2 so he'll be 2.8 ish when they (they? still can't get my head round it!) arrive. Am already panicking about how I'll cope! Chuffed to bits though Smile

Celestia · 19/04/2012 13:38

Congrats on your twins Jan!

Snap soon2bemumof3! We found out at our 12 week scan on Tuesday that we're expecting twins....talk about having the shock of our lives!

It's still not sunk in. When does it?

Susan1981 · 20/04/2012 21:58

I have 11 week old twins and youve reminded me of exactly how I felt not even a very short year ago. ITS THE BEST THING EVER!! Its the hardest thing ever too. But theyre my first babies so I had no clue. Youve done it with one so you do have a head start on me. Your babies are YOURE babies and they will be the most perfect thing in your eyes individually-because of that the rest will come easily. Congratulations you lucky lucky lady xxxxx

Susan1981 · 20/04/2012 22:06

Celestia expecting twins took a while to sink in for me maybe at my 20 week scan? but it could be totally different for you! HAVING twins...Im just about used to it now :) Bless you you deserve the double love xx
