Weight gain with twins

Hi,
I am 17 wks pregnant with twins and am worried about the fact that I haven't put much weight on. For my first DS I had put on a stone and half by now (which was way too much i know) but at 17wks with twins I have only put on 1kg. I haven't had morning sickness as badly as with my first child and so have been eating pretty well. i know that with twins and running around after a toddler I'm likely to burn more energy but everything I read tells me I should have put on at least 3kgs by now. I should say i am already quite overweight so kind of glad I ahven't had the weight gain i had first time around. Has anyone else had this experience or am I finding things to worry about?

Ignore what it's telling you. I had triplets at 33+2 and only gained 2 1/2 stone. These babies will be feeding off you, so don't worry. Doctors and midwives won't weigh you.

At 24 weeks I had put on 9lb (no good in Kg lol)

At my 16 week appt I was worried as I was still in my normal clothes and was sure I should be bigger as it was twins. I remember the midwife laughing and saying just you wait. And about 2 weeks later I just exploded. I was suddenly huge. I never monitored my weight but if I were you I wouldn't worry about it too much. Enjoy it whilst you can, in 4 months time will look back and laugh (hollowly probably Grin)

I lost 1 1/2 stone in the first 18 weeks of my twin pregnancy due to sickness, and I wasn't big before I was pregnant.
As TheVisitor says the babies will feed off you - a doctor told me that babes in the tum are the best parasites - horrid word - but its true, they take all they need from you.
