Still bleeding after 7 weeks following C-section

I am still having bleeding after 7 weeks following c-s of my twins. Saw the doctor today who advised it was normal but also gave me a prescripition for antibiotics just in case. I always thought they were to clear up an infection not stop bleeding. I'm feeling concerned that I don't think this is the correct solution and just a cop-out. I have had mastitis and the antibiotics cause side effects for the babies so I'm reluctant to take them for the sake of it. Does anyone else have a similar experience??

I bled for ages after all 3 of my c sections and was given anti biotics too .......with ds3 I had bits of placenta left and became v ill.
So long as the lochia isnt smelly and theres no obvious infection its ok.

Probably given the antibiotics in case you have an infection it sounds. If you aren't happy go back and talk to the doc. You can't stop the bleeding, you will have to wait. 7 weeks isn't that long tbh. I bled 6 weeks with my first, 3 months with second and was still spotting 6 months later with the twins. If you have had twins you will likely have had a huge placenta and a bigger uterus so possibly should expect more bleeding. Talk to the doc is the best plan. Never just don't take something you have been prescribed without understanding why it was prescribed and speaking to the doc who prescribed it - the doc may well think you have an infection in which case you will need the antibiotics!

Being too physically active will make the bleeding worse.

I'm still bleeding too after a c section for twins it's been 9 weeks. Reading these posts have made me feel a bit better. My consultant scaned me at my 6 week appointment and said everything looked fine but it's really starting to bug me. I think i'm going to have a mirena IUD fitted at 12 weeks though and he said that can alleviate heavy periods.
