Does anyone know if social services still give help i.e. home help type thing, when there is a multiple birth and other toddlers in the house?

Hi, I dont know about social services but my health visiter put me in touch with Homestart, not sure if you will have that in your area, Im in Kent. Anyway they are a voluntery organization that helps families for free. When my trio were born Heather who was a retired school teacher came on Tues mornings, she was abit afraid of handling the babies but brilliant around the house or went shopping etc. She came to us for about 18 months, then came off of her own back as she missed the children, in fact we are off out with her tomorrow, she is treating the kids to a day on the railway. Hope that helps, if not you can apply for a nursery nurse from a local college, they are always looking for first hand experience. Good luck!

social services would only provide such help themselves when following assessment they consider a child to be in need, interpret that as you wish, but don't think its just neglected kids,

they will offer info re- agencies such as homestart, also training colleges for nursery nurses might be a good idea as they often like to place students with families of twins, etc for short term placements.

good luck,

You can self refer to Homestart. They support ANY families with children under 5 years.
Homestart ahev a web site which last time I checked wasn't working but have a search and find out if they're in your area. Most UK regions are covered.
There are no limitations.
I currently support a famoily who are very wealthy but for various reasons mum has been flagged as potential PSD.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I hastened to add it's not for me!
