Hi all, as the tital suggests myself and DH are having a hard time deciding weather or not to have another DC. We have 11 month old adorable non id twin girls that took us aaaaaages to conceive and we always imagined that we wouldnt leave a huge gap between the next baby as would like to have all kids close in age, then again we didnt imagine we would have twins either. Basically looking for advice off anyone who has toddler twins and a baby? is it do-able? As it is the girls can sometimes fight over "mammy time"! As well as that there is the fact that my last pregnancy was quite bad, hypermesis the whole way through :( . Also would there be a higher risk of having twins again?

Turkleton, I would say that anything is do-able, but not necessarily fun! It depends a lot on how much support you have, how old you are, etc.

You do have an increased chance of another multiple birth with non-identical twins (less risk if they are identical). I think it goes from about 1:80 to about 1:40 or 1:50 for twins, and similarly an increased (but still low) risk of triplets.

Hyperemesis may not reoccur, especially if you have a singleton.

I waited until mine were 4, they were nearly 5 when DS3 was born. Have to say it's been brilliant. they love him, he loves them. There's no rivalry and the boys are at school so I have lots of time with the little one.

So even if you wait a little longer, it won't matter

I felt really broody when mine were about 8 - 9 months old, but now they are nearer 18 months old, not so sure at all. Wait till they get to the toddler stage before you make the decision - you might decide you just can't face going through all that again, once things start to get a little easier (in some ways)and you get a bit more hind sight.

Believe me twin toddlers are still really hard work and I think it would be really tough being pregnant again, whilst having to look after them. Also I think it would be very difficult to give them enough attention (it's hard enough as it is!) with a new baby in tow as well. That said, the juries still out for me.. But I think like you, I'll wait until they're at least two before I make the decision.
