emptied the bookcase of all books they can reach

thrown the videos around the room

sung the Something Special theme tune whilst signing a bit

spent a lot of time on the dining table.

DT1 has climbed into the bath
DT2 has taken his penis out of his nappy and peed everywhere.

They have been lovely and cuddly and the place looks well and truly burgled!

Now they are attempting to eat DD1's art set.

DT1 has tried eating DT2 (biting him) and when he didn't like it said "all gone!"

This evening they trashed DD1's room.

Ate a huge amount of food and asked for more.

Emptied the laundry basket.

Rummaged through the linen cupboard.

Had a lovely bath.

Went off to bed happily at 7pm!

Fingers crossed they go through the night!

i have followed many of your twin antics thread but never discovered their age how old are they?

MarsLady · 22/08/2005 22:13

18 months. Everyone said that it would be hard work in the beginning. They knew nothing. It's now that it's difficult, but great fun as well.

The key.... low expectations lol

I was about to post on this thread the other day to reasure you ladies that it does get so much better, However, I think I should have touched wood, see thread DS6yo behaving badly.
Who am I to comment, they just become more strong willed!!!

MarsLady · 28/08/2005 13:16

I have 3 older kids and I know that it gets worse and better. I'm just so aware that it's a double dose! lol

They have now discovered chatting in bed. Great! They chat at nap time, they chat at bed time.

Marslady

You are right, other people with twins said to me that the first year was hellish, boy are they wrong the first year was great in comparrison.

My twins are 20months now and cause total havoc they run off in opposite directions causing more mayhem and I never know which way to run first

swiperfox · 28/08/2005 21:41

Mars I think your DT's are fantastic!!!

MarsLady · 28/08/2005 22:16

waterfalls.... who do you go for? The one heading for the road or the live electric cable?

I mean... no answer is right is it. I think parents of twins, in fact all multiples, should be given houses with extremely large, safe gardens so that we can safely let our kids out.

I had to leap a large fence to save DT1 from a truck a few weeks back. Who knows what I would've done if DT2 had found the same escape route from the safe enclosed park lol

thanks swiper!

It is true that the first year is hard work but at least you don't also have to deal with a whirling dervish times two!

Actually 18 months was also okay.

Just wait until they are 3 1/2 Marslady and all you hear is "Mummy why is that, who is that, what is that, but what does that mean, what is HE doing, why is he doing it" or the best (while pointing right in the persons face) "What is that person EATING?"

Some days my ears hurt, oh, and they are still messy but at least you can get them to tidy up now!

TwoIfBySea · 29/08/2005 20:38

And need I say it but all of that is in stereo!

MarsLady · 29/08/2005 20:49

PMSL

You are not helping Twoifbythesea. lol

I have to say... despite the madness, the exhaustion and the neverending relentlessness of it all... I wouldn't change a thing. Those double hugs are to die for!
