Hi all, so I'm a white woman with a Caribbean husband. We have 4 beautiful children together.

With my last baby girl (3 months old). I keep getting told that she is very light(almost like a white baby) however has all the black features.

Now looking back at all my children when they were babies they all came out looking white except my son(he had more colour). Anyways as they have got older my 15yo daughter is the darkest, my 9yo daughter is slightly lighter then my eldest. My son who is 2yo looks lighter in the face now but darker body. Now my baby daughter 3months old looks really white but had the features.

Some people can be so narrow minded when it comes to mixed babies. Mind you I've had this problem since day 1. But I would do anything for my kids.

If any1 has any advice for me please let me know.

Sorry for the essay

Please don't get upset - the poster above is right! Genetics is amazing! My mixed heritage children were quite pale at birth, but they did change.
Both me and my husband have been separately asked if ours were adopted! We just have learned to tune out nonsense. Our DC are now very attractive adults - and look very different to each other! Just try to enjoy parenthood.

Thanks ladies I appreciate it. It's just so annoying when you are having repeat the same stuff people who ask. All younhave to do is look at my children and say "yep there related" coz they all look like each other except some are darker then others. And they all look like there dad.

It is very annoying - there are plenty of sibling sets who don't look similar - it just looks more obvious with our families and skin tone.

Yes I agree @Maireas. I have kinda learnt to ignore certain people

Some people are just stupid I'm afraid. You can't let it bother you.

My younger son is much darker skinned than my elder son. my elder son has tightly curled back hair while my younger son has dark brown hair and loose curls. I've had people ask me shouldn't it be the other way round? Like the darker the skin the tighter the curls should be or something ridiculous.

Omg that sounds ridiculous. I get that same with my eldest. She has afro hair and tight curls but my other children have loose curls and half afro half my textured hair.
