Happy Diwali!

We have DP's family coming over for curry, Indian sweets and...yet more fireworks.

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 10:30

Dsses will come home with yet another diwali candle holder they've lovingly made at school, shedding sequins with every step (I have about 15 as I am not allowed to throw previous years' away...)

Shubh Diwali!

'' may you be blessed with good fortune as long as Ganeshji's trunk, wealth and prosperity as big as his stomach, happiness as sweet as his ladoos and may your trouble be as small as his mouse.''

Happy diwali and annakut everyone!

We've been to mandir this morning, all looking very pretty. Then we went to Ealing road to stock up on goodies. Will be scoffing lots of sweets later.
Sadly we've given our fireworks away as the dts are terrified of them, but we are plannign a family get together tomorrow.

Hope everyone else has fun.

We're off to the in-laws tonight for fireworks and lots of lovely food, and I hope a quiet rest on sofa for me(was on -call last night)
Happy Diwlai everyone

well, my last henna tattoo lasted around 10 days...

Blu · 09/11/2007 18:15

fmf - DS will love that Ganesh wish...DP hasn't imparted that to us!

fullmoonfiend · 09/11/2007 18:20

I'm not sure what ladoos are. Hope it's nowt filthy...

Blu · 09/11/2007 18:52

ladoos are balls, fmf.

They are those big round orange balls, very sweet, made largely of Indian style condensed milk, ghee, syrup and sweet spices, I think. Offered and given as presents on festivals etc.

the length of time henna lasts is dependant on how often you wash your hands..... it lasts forever on your nails doesnt wash out.

Happy Diwali everyone, are there any mnetters in Wembley, we went to see the diwali procession there last Saturday, my girls adored it.
