Hi i wonder if anyone can help. My son is being assessed for adhd at the moment. He does not have a diagnosis as yet. Is it worth applying for dla and what do most people receive. He cannot cross roads safely, has no sense of danger, lacks focus, not great sleeper and is always knocking into things etc. Thanks

Teen has ADHD & ASD. Middle rate care component & lower rate for mobility. He was on medication for his ADHD when he was awarded it and we sent the copy of the report for his assessment as supporting evidence. I have no idea if it would be awarded without a formal diagnosis but it would surely be worth applying? He was reassessed recently for pip & had to attend an interview but he did have a sympathetic assessor.

Thank you. I have completed the form and they received it on the 31st March so will see what happens. Just wondering how long it will take now, hopefully not the full 8 weeks.

Hi,
I'm guessing you may have been awarded by now but if not, my son is being assessed for adhd and autism and doesn't have a diagnosis yet.
However, he was awarded high rate care last time and i'm just waiting for the decision on his renewal.
Hope you got what you wanted/needed.
