Those Blue spots...again!

My 2nd DS has a dark blue spot that seems to have 'spread' up to the middle of his back (from top of botty) in the last couple of months. He is 8 months. Has this happened to anyone elses children? Also, my 1st DS still has his blue spot and he is 2+1/2. I was told this would probably disappear by his 1st birthday and this doesn't seem to be the case for either of my DS's. Not that I'm worried, just intrigued. Any comments?

hi,
my ds's seems to have spread a bit aswell, he is 10 months. It doesn't seem to have faded at all.

my dp had his untill he was about 5 I think.

Mine didn't lose theirs until they were about 5. I really wouldn't worry... just make sure it's noted in their red books!

Well, it is written in there from birth, but I may write in myself about change in size etc. I have heard those terrible stories of mums being accused of child abuse. Good idea!

my dd is 9 weeks and has some large blue spots on her bum. a few days ago i noticed a mark on her ankle. i was so worried as it looked like a finger shaped bruise. we'e certain she's never been handled roughly but something made me suspect it was a type of blue spot. i just did a search for more info and was relieved to find out that blue marks around wrists and ankles are common too.
phew!
