First openly racist comment directed at my son...

It finally happened. He's 18m old. On holiday in a provincial seaside town and some visitors came up to say "awww, does he speak English?". He IS British! Was so mad, I didn't know what to say. Any smart responses for next time?!!!

Well their nationality or the colour of their skin doesn't dictate the language they speak. It's a very ignorant comment. I guess next time just say "Je ne comprais pa" (Sorry can't spell French.)

What an odd comment, especially as surely he resembles you or DH and thry were addressing you in English. Honestly I don't think that level of stupid deserves a response. I'd perfect a withering look and wlak awya
