ACHTUNG!!!!!!!!!

admylin · 23/06/2007 19:59

Does she want to chat online or meet up? If she wants to meet up you'll have to put her approx. location too. I once asked on here if there were any chat/forums in German and I found quite a few nice ones (but never join in as it's hard going writing in German) also there is a good online forum of Germans in London i think. Would that be what she is looking for?

admylin · 23/06/2007 20:01

germans in the UK
This looks quite good for finding Germans in the UK.

Scootergrrrl · 23/06/2007 20:09

Isn't Emkana german? Or am I completely wrong?

Hi, thanks so much for the bumps and information.

She wants support from other german mothers mainly. Her dd gets bullied by kids for being half German plus she just wants to contact mums who are in a similar situation as her.

I'll show her the site you've linked admylin, thank you xx

the kids get bullied at school for being German?!? Oh that's so sad! DD has not had any jibs/bullying so far about it, all her classmate think it's cool . They're only in Reception though so it might change. The teachers though are really good in supporting multi-nationalism (is that a word???) as they encourage any foreign language speakers to bring in some of their own books to introduce them to the other pupils which I think is great.
I'm in Marlow if that's any help

Ulysees · 24/06/2007 14:53

hi MrsD, her dd is almost 10 so that may be why? It probably depends on the school though. She also has 2 younger sons.
If you would contact her then please email me at goldenbrownand @ hotmail.com. and I'll give her your email. Don't want to put hers on here iykwim?

MrsBigD, we have the same constellation in our family.
I'm a Kraut, he is Kiwi.

I know loads of German-Kiwi couples, seems to be quite a popular combination.

Hi, I am German married to an English guy, we live at the London/Essex boarders. My sons are too young to get bullied at school but they grow up bilingual and hell if one little bugger dares making stupid comments I'm gonna come after them! My FIL (he is 70) once was concerned about me enjoying "the walk" in Fawlty Towers and he got a right seeing-to as well. He was banned from getting any of my German Xmas biscuits that year - he deeply regretted his comment after that!
